WC3M November Finals

Hello everyone and welcome to our monthly finals of the Warcraft 3 Masters tournament! Today holds a great tournament ahead of us as 32 of the top players in the world compete for the right to be called the champ (and a little cash too). With the brackets being up, we see some great matches coming together right from the starts. SK.FaTC takes on BoB_IsNice in a rematch of round 6 meeting last week in which Bob came out the victor. 4K.Zeus[19] and SK.Insomnia meet in round one as well which should prove to be a VERY interesting matchup. apm70 seems to come out of hiding and plays his first rounder against MYM]Bjarke, while one of the heavy favourites to win it all, SK.Zacard takes on it-Creolophus. The American lnclnerator clashes with Korean Undead powerhouse SK.Sweet, and two other Koreans in SK.SeleCT and MYM]GoStop face off. And who could forget the winner of last weeks tournament, 4K.Grubby who has his showdown with mouz.BenQ.vanx.

All in all, this looks to be one HELL of a tournament with tons of great matches to look forward too. And I'll be here to keep ya updated througout it all!

Update #1: 11:30 EST
The tourney hasn't even begun and we already have some news for you guys! As a few of the players were unable to show up, we have som replacments. SK.MaD]Q[FroG will be replacing SK.HeMaN, Rival.ShowTime will replace SK.SeleCT and Justice.WeRRa shall replace MYM]GoStop. Things will start to get underway in a bit, so I'll keep you guys posted on how things are coming along.

Update #2: 1:15 EST
Another replacement has happened as mouz.Benq.Short was unable to play, so mouz.Benq.Suboshi has taken his place. 4K.Grubby made short work of mouz.Benq.vank0r, while SK.Zacard took on it-Creolophus in an intense series in which Zacard won in 2 straight games. SK.May has defeated mTw-Ghostridah, while SK.Wizard took down mTw-DIDI8. SK.SuRviVoR lost to 64AMD.Cara, and in a surprise upset, ReX.Evenstar fell to jNg.Levin. In the second round, 4K.Grubby is now facing SK.Wizard and SK.May plays jNg.Levin, while many first round matches are still being completed.

Update #3: 2:00 EST
Just a quick update as we are just about completely done with round 1. 4K.Zeus[19] beat SK.Insomnia 2-1 and now faces MYM]Susuiria who beat mouz.Benq.FETA (aka PaniC_WasanO). After taking down MYM]Bjarke, apm70 is now forced to face off against SK.MaD]Q[FroG in an interesting rematch of a King Of The Hill match. SK.Sweet now plays mouz.Benq.Suboshi and Justice.WeRRa plays jNg.Skyward. That series is now 1-0 in favour of Justice.

Over in the Loser Bracket, ReX.Evenstar has been given a freewin by mTw-Ghostridah,, lnclnerator has beaten out the Korean SK.WiNNerS, and SK.SuRviVoR has taken down it-Creolophus. And interestingly enough, Check[FrienZ] and Rival.ShowTime decided to play their loser-bracket match as a best-of-3 match, with Check coming out on top.

Update #4: 3:00 EST
Only 3 players have made it to round 3 as of yet, SK.May being the first, and they other two being 4K.Grubby and Justice.WeRRa. Grubby and Justice actually face each other in round 3, so that should be done soon enough.

Back in round 2 however, I am currently watching 4K.Zeus[19] and MYM]Susiria, and the game is AMAZING. Both players have high level heros and have been beating each other to a pulp time and time again. Zeus looks to have this one won, but the way this game is going, who knows how it will turn out.
EDIT: Zeus won the first game.

Update #5: 6:00 EST
I am EXTREMELY sorry folks, my internet connection went down for 3 hours today, hence the fact that there have been no updates. However, everything is back now, so I should be able to keep you guys posted from now on.

Zeus was able to take down Susiria in that last series, and then went on to beat SK.FaTC 2-1. At the moment, Zeus is facing SK.Zacard who beat out 64AMD.Cara and then got a freewin from apm70. Zacard is now up 1-0, and the winner of the series will face 4K.Grubby in the winner bracket finals. Maybe we'll see a rematch of the WCG Gold medal round....

Down in the loser bracket, Check[FrienZ] has battled his way up to one of the final rounds after being taken out by jNg.Skyward in round 1. He is now playing against SK.Sweet in which is seems like Sweet will take the game. SK.May is playing King.Crimson in the loser bracket after taking a loss from 4K.Grubby.

Update #6: 6:40 EST
Oh boy ladies and gents, what an amazing tournament we've had today. With soe many great matches, you'd think that there wold be nothing we could do to improve it. But you thought wrong. Because over in the winners bracket we have none other then 4K.Grubby facing off against SK.Zacard in a WCG rematch which should prove to be amazing. Not only that, but in the loser bracket, we have 4K.Zeus[19] playing SK.Sweet, the winner plays SK.May, and the winner of that plays the winner of Grubby vs. Zacard. What a final! I will be watching Zeus vs. Sweet for the time being, and will continue to update with more results.

Update #7: 7:45 EST
In an interesting turn of events, SK.Zacard has beaten 4K.Grubby in the winner bracket finals. However, Grubby will still compete in the loser bracket finals to earn the right to face Zacard again.

And down to the loser bracket, 4K.Zeus has been eliminated by SK.Sweet in a very...odd series in which Sweet won 2:0. The first game, Zeus went for a massive 5 Ancient Protector rush on Turtle Rock, but lost that one. In the next game on Twisted Meadows, Sweet went mass Gargoyles with Zeus going.....Druids of the Claw. Like I said, odd.

In the other loser bracket semi-finals, SK.May has just taken down King.Crimson, meaning that SK.Sweet and SK.May will play each other, with the winner play 4K.Grubby in the loser bracket finals.

Update #8: 8:20 EST
Well, SK.May won the first game against SK.Sweet, and Sweet decided to give up the rest of the series, resulting in May advancing 2-0. This now means that SK.May and 4K.Grubby will face off in the loser bracket finals, with the winner playing Zacard in the Grand Finals.

Unfortunately, this will be the last match of the day, as all of the players are extremely tired. We are not sure when the rest of the games will be played, but rest assured, when we find out, you guys will too. Until then, this is blaze, over and out.

    Will Rex.EvenStar actually play!? and would someone please get a replay of him playing. I have never seen him play. One would assume it's quite impressive to watch him play since he's the riegning champion of the most prestigious league in Korea.

    i hope apm70 does something this time, grubbys quite unstoppable unless sweet comes in the picture. :). showtime, madfrog, fatc are lookin pretty strong off late. I just hope all the players show up this would be one heck of a tourney, props to wcr for hostin such an awesome one.

    im sorry to double post, but i forgot this in the previous one. Please make it imperative for every player TO SUBMIT THE REPLAY AND THEN ONLY PROGRESS TO THE NEXT ROUND. we have had so many great tournies so far and many replays went missing. I know its a tough job, but please tell the players that its absolutely necessary!

    grubby says he played like a noob cuz he is tired. But zacard was playing two tourneys, the "in-cup" and wc masters toureny. So if fatigue was the factor for grubby's loss to zacard, that excuse dont make sense, since zacard is twice as tired due to playing 2 tourneys at same time. Which= more mental fatigue and stress

    Ok, just to clear some things up: apm70 gave Zacard a freewin as he had to leave, all subs were either chosen by admins, or the players subbing out had asked if they could play for them. 4K-ToD and 4K-FoV had asked to sub out, as they have MBC (or OGN, I don't remember) matches tomorrow and wanted to get a good night's sleep.

    And if you look at times, it was 10:00 AM for Grubby and Zeus during the finals, meaning they had been up the entire night and well into the morning, so fatigue certainly comes into account.

    Human players didn't do very good in this tournament. Tod didn't play but there might be imbalance or/and new strats to discover. Maybe using more t3 and a paladin.

    fatigue my ass im sure he planned his day accordingly to play at these hours and if he didnt its his fault thus not a valid excuse and pure bad manners to even imply that he lost to fatigue and not zacard which on that given day was the better man... and btw zad played the incaup tourny replayers.com and won it which means he went all the way to finals and played b03 in his final game 2-1 so talking about fatigue whats ur counter to that boya 2 tourneys all the way to the final rounds thats intense on any player too

    @ futile war ... due to his level Zacard can take 2 tourney the same day despite the tension. As for Grub planning to take a nap b4 it's aquestion of rythm of sleep ... personnallly the fact of take a nap before is not sufficient enough to be really fresh. I am not able of that but maybe it's different for the others, I don't know. Many Korean players gave up because they were tired ... I don't remind exactly who, winners and sweet IIRC. Anyway the finals of the WC3M are ALWAYS played another day because it's late for the people in final ... if they were no problem of fatigue they will keep on playing up to the end of the tourney.
