ok, this thread is inspired by the grudge-match thread made by illusion, here you can challenge anyone either in a friendly or not-so-friendly way, here you can challenge theorycrafters (Sharil?) for a real life showdown, or challenge someone because he/she pisses you off in the forums...

so ok, to start this i would like to challenge GRUBBY! :rofl: joke, we're not on the same lvl :flex: (cause im light years below) and i dnt happen to mingle with him in the same community, also, i am no able to host CGs, just join them :lol:

ok rules...

1. no spamming with challenges, no posting of new challenges as long as the previous challenge has not been carried out yet unless one or both players decides to back out, or a significant amount of time has already passed...

2. save replay and post the link here

3. challenger (or would be challenged) should be able to host CGs

Scratch that. In a normal game after I see necro's I definately make some spirit walkers if I am still alive.

Rolling wave, the limition u put on opponent is not fair. The best way for Ne to fight back is hipporider strat. For orc its ground domination w/ sw or half ground and half windriders vs a ud wagonmancer. Even if i did not know what u were going, it would become apparent as i scout u out constantly in the game. So it would be unfair for u to limit us this way.

Also wagonmancer is not as powerful as u think. As u go up the ladder, ur gonna realize its not really as powerful, due to the skill level/micro, knowledge, experience. vs a good solo player, u will get countered better, faster, and of course micro and scouting which really makes a big diff in the power of a strat. Wagonmancer still is not a bad strat, but not one i would recomend to any ud player that is playing in higher levels of play.
I only see ud go wagonmancer or even get necros when i play lower level players. Most 20+ ud players im friends w/ in my clan or on solo ladder usually go fiends, destroyers, then some aboms as game goes on.

Also if i faced wagonmancer, i would prob assume u were a newb who just got to level 20+ cuz of amm, or ur just fucking around. So maybe that is part of the reason why wagonamancer seems to work for u. Cuz its totally unexpected of 20+ players.

(and I hide my temple in the back usually) i realize it doesn't work against very high lvl player (and i'm not a very high lvl player anyway)

In most cases elf don't go hipporider as a normal strat... nor do people start a lodge first thing they hit tier 2......... once you acturally see the temple and/or necs starting a lodge till you have adept spirit walker take AGES.

Ur totally right on about Ne, most ne will fall to wagonmaner, cuz they really dont have a counter unless they start hippor rider strat off the bat, but most descent ne player will go normal ne strat.

VS orc, (im 20+ orc player), i think wagonmancer is still counterable, since we can buy ourselfs time to counter wagonmancer using windrider strat. I tend to go 2 grunt fast tech to windriders and im usually in tier 3 while ud is still in tier 2. Also i whittle away at main ud force to keep them from massing, so its easier for me to handle destroyers if they even get that far. Usually game is over in tier2 for me vs ud. If its wagonamcner, i tower and just play hit and run on u, while i send peons to get new expo. Then get taruens and casters out while im still using tier2 force. Tauren can counter mass skellies, even though the cripple is a bitch, but w/ purge, bloodlust, LS, its not too hard to counter.

I still think wagonmancer is a good strat, but at higher levels of play, its not as good, cuz ppl can manually counter very fast. Im so used to having shamans in my army that, its so easy for me to counter cripple. The one strat that i seen that uses necros is :

CL first hero, lich 2nd hero, dk 3rd hero.

What ur going for is fiends, stats, banshees w/ possesion, initate necs, 2 wagon. I ran into one ud guy using this twice that same day. I lost both games :(
He had very very fast posess (not sure if he sets them up next to main army or what, cuz he couldnt hvae had them in the back of his army, cuz that takes too long).

Anyways the micro is impale, micro possess, while they r trying to possess, ur big units come out of impale stun, and u nova w/ lich. This requires very very fast fingers, but it works. I couldnt believe i lost to possess, when at my skill level, thats usually not possible to bring off.

I think this strat can work even in higher levels. The guy was only level 23 or something (old amm) at the time, but he had a perfect record and his micro was really fast, First game i tried to micro my unit away from possess, but impale,and a late nova 4 sec nova made that impossilbe, and i had no range units except for 2 demos.
2nd game I tried hero combo to kill them(banshees) asap if i could. I still lost to it, cuz impale and nova just leaves ur army helpless for that short time and ur heros only weaken the banshees to almost dead level hp but they still are able to possess. I had HH in beserker mode to, but it didnt do me too much good, i got taken out same way as the first game. I coudnt hero combo and move my hh into positoin fast enough to really make use of them to counter the banshees. I sent one of my clanmantes(ud) a replay of one the last game, but not sure if he still has it. I will ask and have him send it to me if he still has it.

Guys, shutup and listen to what Wave is saying... there is a handicap on him, you know what he is doing. Its not right for him to force you to not use hippos or w.e, so why not do this... best of 3 games, that way you can mix up the strats. Only true way to do it. And wave, I accept your challenge, but both of my strategies, NORMAL strategies, are able of beating you. I play orc (fun), ne (serious), and undead (formerly). Orc - vs UD I harrass with BM while making about 3 grunts, creep with those while harrassing with my BM, then tech and get shaman + pults. Soon after that I get bats... as is obvious I stick around in tier 2 for awhile, expecting you to go destroyers (thus the bats... siege damage).

Ne - vs UD, warden is standard using SS + fok, or sometimes fok + blink. Mass archers, siege your base with them from afar at tier 2, and I typically add in DotTs. As you can see, hippo-riders would be an easy switch.

I dont play UD anymore, and I definitely wouldnt start back for a fucking mirror match ><

I got $100 bucks on rollingwave. I have never seen ace play, but he dosent strike me as someone who really knows how to play, atleast not our levels anyways. No offense Ace, but from the post/replies that u put up, i dont think u know the game as well as rolling.

Even though i disagree w/ some of the stuff rolling post concerning strats etc. I think thats just a matter of playstyle or strat preference. So even though we have different views at times. I do believe rollingwave is a good player that also has the knowledge,strat, exp, micro(well descent enough since cad has low apm as well, that is if rolling really does have apm of under 100) to back him up.

But if u guys do play, i def want to watch.
After all i do need to collect the money after the game :)

Hmmm the time zone is a pretty big problem for me as I live in Taiwan... and that's about a 12 hour time zone diff to US east but i'm on vacation so I could probably do it :P

My personal exp against better orc is that if they tower i'm usually screwed ... but usually you can't tower if u go strait wvy... though 2 grunt tech to wvy tend to give me a lot of trouble (although also a bit more time to build) as the for the early game back and forth.. that really is relivent to a player's skill and not the strat he use.... i USUALLY dont' lose acols to fs harrase ... but not always... and usually better orc don't try to harrase ur acols much but try to seriously annoy you while u creep.... (really hurts cl users bad ... )

That strat you meantioned sounds really cool.... but wouldn't mass wvy be a serious problem for him? i'm pretty positive yo ucan't posses wyv even if they are webbed..... would acturally like to see those rep if you saved it :P

Mr.Moo i dont know how good he really is, but if i had to guess, i would think he was just low intermediate or intermediate. Cuz some of his post makes me think that he thinks he is awsome and his strats uncounterable to some degree etc. But that might be cuz he is playing newbs or ppl who arnt as skilled (97% of all wc3 players).

Cuz i find it hard to believe he has not lost w/ some of the strats he is using.

Anyways for me: Im 20+ solo orc (stopped playing about 2 1/2 or 3 month ago). Beat alot of high level solo including shaman of FTR #1 solo clan west(I no someone here was bragging about clan ftr not too long ago, solo clan ranking means nothing, it just means ur clan plays alot of solo and has enough good players to get wins), ranked 2vs2 AT(also beat rank #7 at team west). My avg win percentage= 65-70% on solo, i think it was 68% when i stopped.

counter exists......but its expensive, takes too much time and mostly u will need a expo and a fast tech.......
chims/fd/mg/wisp.....get warden/panda for help a bit with some nukes....taunt the skellies so u can dispell them and he dont ff on the funny ne peons.....chim spash dmg is the strongest thing vs skellies.....blink with warden and fok on necs, then run blinking again, b4 your warden die to nuke.....but tell me:when u see hig-lvl warden/panda with mgs, chims, fds and wisps????isnt too expensive get mg/chim and some wisps/fd???

It REALLY is not that hard to counter wagon... I will still be owned by Wave when I play him, dont get me wrong. He is by far the superior player, considering I havent played in a few weeks and I dont play competitively anymore, but nonetheless the strategy is not hard. NEs are the kings (or, rather, queens) of hit and run tactics. Use them to delay your opponent, and then when he does get necros, dont let him get alot of them. Of course he can always mass them up in his base, but then they aren't being put to use and you siege from afar, or better yet, run when his army comes home. If he sits in his base, you can go creep, and come back a few creep spawns less later. By then your archers will have the distance upgrade which means 1 of 2 things -- dead, poorly-hidden necros, or free siege on his towers and ziggs. When he comes back, use speed to your advantage, or fight him if you can. Doubtfully the ladder cus of the graveyard he will have in his base. Sure, he will pick off a few archers with nova and coil, but its acceptable. Archers are low HP, high DPS units, and die quickly. Its in their nature. Easily replaced. When the necros do finally get their job done you should have hippo riders, who can dismount if webbed and you should have 2 - 3 wisps for mana draining NOT DISPELLING! the UD can't have that many warriors and/or magis up with just the few necros you are going to allow him, which means a good casting of fok and then a second will kill his warriors and perhaps the necros, who are also drained of mana, and then its a fair battle. Also, if on a tavern map, you can get a Naga Seawitch for forked lightning though this isnt that recommended since the warden can use the wagons to her advantage at level 6. Of course, most of this is theorcrafy, and some practicecraft vs noobs, but the strategy itself works. I havent the skill to pull it off vs wave though, more than likely. But, Wave, now we are evenfooted, I know your strat and you know mine, though we both more than likely have a few tricks up our sleeves.

I was on gnoll wood so i didnt hit him w/ windriders. Instead i went for grunts to fast expo to taurens, shamans, and SW and totallly skipped windriders cuz he had two crypts out, so i figure he's gonna build gargloes and fiends for the game and maybe a fast expo. Once i saw his caster building, i got sw asap (was going sw too, so it didnt really matter). I teched so fast and had dual everything, i thought i could just pummel him to death and so i hit his town thinking im gonna rape those fiends, couple of gargoles he had out, and the necros+banshees(didnt really think too much of banshee's since curse is ok, but it dont really matter, when my taruens w/ stomp upgrade+grunts beserk upgrade, weapon upgrade, +shaman bloodlust, SW link, dispell, and was upgrading to get raise ancestrat spirit for my taruens.

I thought i could just wup him w/out even having to micro, and our first major battle at his town, i got wupped hard core after losing my taurens to possess. That stun, late nova combo really fucked me over. Once that happened i didnt really know wht to do, cuz i knew he would be comming for me, so i just mass hh w/ my grunts and demos and shamans, but it wasnt enough to hold his army. My HH fell hella fast to stun(cant even attack) and then nova, while he repeats this shit over and his necros start poping skelly everwhere and his wagon just pummel my shamans to death.

I could tell he had great micro, the timming and speed of his micro was really good, so i know he uses this strat often or atleast practiced w/ it before.


Also about windriders, i dont think banshees can possess air units even if it is webbed. Same as kodos cant devour air units that are ensnared.

I'll get the replay to u when i can. If i do get back on wc3, im thinking about playing ud too, so i would like to have a 2nd look at it as well. Cuz its a totally unexpected strat not to mention very effective, since it takes away ur ability to micro the first 5-8 sec of the game, which at high levels really makes a big diff in the outcmoe of the game especially when u cant counter a possess(which was also my biggest prob vs this guy). U cant run ur guys away nor can u take them down fast enough to stop the banshee spell. I think its a great strat vs orc, but not sure about races that have better ff ability. Even still, i think u can still get enough unit possesed that it can turn a battle, if u get thier big units.

I stopped playing wc3 for about 3 month now and i dont really have a comp to play wc3. I used to go to lan center, but i just moved to wa 3 month ago and there is no descent lan centers, which is the reason why i quit :(
Thats why i am on the forums alot, cuz i cant play wc3 no more, unless i upgrade my comp and mouse.

ill play you wave...il add your east name to my friends list and if we are both on and not doing soemthign :), and i have beaten mass necro caster, i dont think its THAT hard...jsut requires a bit of micro, u fast expo and tower up use a scout wisp to watch all areas to ur base/expo, the trick(like in NE/ORC who towers with demos) is to catch them in the transition from point a-b, u want to hit them from behind and ff wagon as soon as u do u port away if possible....bring along wisps and MGs_archers/dotts, use upgraded archer/dott to ff necros and use MGs to taunt so u can slip a wisp in(hotkey is "D" for detonate), try to get both necros/skeles but since u ff them its ok if u get mainly skeles...also the MGs are vital to counter w/e UD is getting as Necro/wagonsupport(best versions ive seen are aboms and or Frost wyrms).Theres more to it, but im writing a NE guide, i think necro wagon is annoying...but im much more relieved if i see a UD going this vs one going straight ghoul/garg. Another key is not to let UD expo...i dont care if u use sappers, extra units or w/e, always scout expo...ive won games vs good plaeyrs thx to good scouting(im a fast expo whore).

Hey guys, this is gonna be really hard to do, organising all of this, so I have an idea. ADD YOUR OPPONENT TO YOUR /F LIST (get their USEast Bnet name, it'll be easiest if we all use one server) and also, everyone drop by channel " eat " which we can use as the tourney channel. Occassionally, when your on type " /who eat " and it will list anyone in the channel. This way we can know if anyone is on or whatnot. Its 245 here, Ill be on for prolly around 12 hours or so. Well, I havent met any jerks I want to challenge or anything, I just thought it would be cool to be an observer in some of these games if there are open slots. Of course, I have no clue about this because this thread lacks serious organization and cant get any times set.

Might I recommend you have opponents set times with eachother through PM's instead of clogging the boards with "Oh crap, I quit warcraft". Then you could put the current matches on the front page of the thread (via edit) once they PM you a set time. If you did I this this whole program would probably be alot more succesful and maybe then I could get some games to watch :cool:

well the fact that i havent played any war3 games since bout 3 weeks ago....i havnt dled the new patch yet...add that and the fact that im not anxious to disc anytiem soon on ladder(i got 56k...another reason why im scared to try and dl patch), this is probaly why rolling and i havnt played yet...but once i can get over to my freinds place for a LAN ill be online and tearing it up on ladder:) so rolling and i can play then

Uh Fuzbee, the boards are here to talk, and speak on, we can "clog" them however we like, er, short of spamming nude pix of staff ^_^. Look at Ace's sig if you want the matches. Problem? Didn't think so. And as for organisation, do you really think people PLAN what time their going to be on the internet, to play a VIDEOGAME? If you do, then more power to you -coughlosercough- but uh I for one do not. And if my grandmother comes back from the grocery store when Im scheduled to play, and needs my help bringing in the groceries, I am of course going to help her, if by postponing the game a few minutes, or by pressing PAUSE and hoping for some mannar from my opponent. Those reasons are why I, for one, have a hard time setting a concrete time, that and the fact that I never know when I might be waking up. So, I gave my opponent's my contact info and let it be. Its too hard to get a time setup, what with time zones diffs and everything. Cus if you don't, uh...

EDIT: Hope, I found DAP for you, but there seems to be some form of error on Blizzard's page. I went into the patches folder, and for whatever reason, it is no longer there. Continue to go to this folder though, and maybe they will fix the problem ><

Im not saying you should plan time for playing videogames everyday, but if youre trying to meet someone in particular, its probably a good idea to schedule a time beforehand. Sound familiar?....well maybe not to you, but thats what real people do in real life.
