Lately I have been wondering what the better way to play is. To constantly put preasure on your opponent makenig them break down and never giving them a moments peace to creep; or creep yourself while building up to small skirmishes and larg battles.
So how do you play and have you found it effective?

Night elf was made to be offensive, the harrass heros, the moonwells for healing, and the strong tier 1 units
Night elf is certainly the best race to rush with and the worst race to have late game so offensive a lot more effective.

Offensive is the only our only choice until our towers get fixed.

Defensive. If you attack someone's base you are at disadvantage because of base defense and they get new units in battle before you can. I love when someone attacks my base.

Defencive during T1/2, offencive during T3, that's where the fun starts.

been more objective:
night elf was made to be offensive, to spam entangles, get moonwell in auto-cast and mass tier 1 with attack-move

Even when I get frost wyrms or ghoul frenzy in tier 3 I am still defensive in that I won't attack my opponent's base, however I want to battle him anywhere else so I can own him.

I usually play a hyper-aggressive style, with constant harassment and/or pressure.

I play defensively even as NE. Not good, maybe, but I don't like rushing :)

Offensive. Orc is made for it. We do more damage to other races' bases than they can do to ours in the same amount of time. Even our towers are made for offensives. :)

It varies in different matchups, but most of the time I play defensive. UD don't really shine until I get frenzy and destros.

Orc are offensive as hell.. they need the harass. So offensive it is.

orc vs ud: defensive (get high level chain wave)
orc vs hum: offensive (harassment, deny hum of creeping time, u have adv in tier1)
orc vs ne: offensive, stop them before archer/dott or chims
orc vs orc: offensive if thers tavern (win quickly with naga), defensive if theres none (level up sh serpent wards)

Defensive. I absolutely HATE people who play offensively, because I don't like constant battles. Not because I enjoy CreepCraft, but because I prefer sporadic large battles so I can judge how I'm doing.

Im a aggressive style orc. My motto= peon/building harass, creepjack, and enemy army stalker.
I usually split my army to town harass, while creepjacking and enemy army stalking. Or town harsas+2nd hero creeping.

Fairly offensive. I generally like to end the game quick, so I harrass like a mofo.

According to Sun Tzu, it is the general concept of war that he who maintains the initiative wins the war. So, offensive.

Offensive to hell and back. Orc can't win if we lag a step behind.

Smart offensive play owns defensive, so offense is the better option as long as you know what you are doing. Noobs generally play defensive, therefore easy to kill since they are idle, no scouting, no pressure, no expo/main base harrass no creeping etc...If both players are average or better it all comes down to micro and timing

Anyone who uses orc/NE/ud plays offensively. Its only the human players that are mostly defensive.. creeping and stuff.

Offensive, because Tier 3 == GG orc.
But when I play as UD, more defensive / creep, because Tier 3 == GG you.

offensive defense...i.e i harrass with my DK and do very little creeping cept with ghoos back at home while teching like a fool and waiting for my tech advantage to cash in...im also known for following enemy heros/armies around with just my DK+ lich and picking of units
