Audio Commentators Wanted!

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at making audio commentaries and join our illustrious staff this is the chance you've been waiting for!

To apply all you have to do is make a sample commentary and send it to applications@wcreplays.com. Audios should be no more than four minutes in length, be saved as MP3 files, and discuss some aspect of this game (http://www.wcreplays.com/replays.php?get=4442&R=3) between SK.Sweet and SK.Survivor. (Make sure to mention when to start the replay but don't waste too much time on it.) Please format your e-mail's subject line and the MP3 file name as follows:

Audio_Application-Member_Name

Keep in mind this isn't a contest; depending on the quality of the applications we receive we might hire anywhere between zero and nine billion new commentators. Applications will be accepted through the 16th of November which gives you a week to prepare the best audio you can. Those whose applications stand out will be asked to record a longer commentary and subject themselves to an arduous and at times humiliating interview process, the details of which have yet to be invented.

Remember, we're not only looking for a good commentator but also someone who can be a responsible member of the staff. As such, any submissions that don't follow these rules will be discarded and ignored - no exceptions.

Yeah, but if that's the case, why is it supposed to be an in-game commentary (since it is to be unpaused etc) Seems weird. If it's just a discussion of the outstanding choices, actions and events in the replay, plus an analysis, it would be another story.

If you can't figure it out you probably aren't going to make insightful commentaries anyway, same with following rules and being a good addition to staff.

What can we use to record the audios,I have wavepad but I think it makes the things pretty big,and also are we supposed to have in on 2x speed so it's like 2 mins?

u need a compressor :) to compress size of file after u've recorded it. 2x speed? eh? its suppose to be on a 4 min fragment of your choice of the 9 minute long replay Sk.sweet vs SK.survivor.

for a compressor try using "DBpowerAMP Music Converter" it lowers quality, id say you could make a 4 min audio to about 6 or so mb and still keep a decent amount of quality

Most of the staff here do 20 min audios and keep them under 6 MB...

When I tried dl --> open it didn't work, but when I used save as and then unrar it worked.

yea i always save as too lol. i never open files from downloading, it always takes longer and it doesnt make it that much easier to do

Also regarding the corrupted download it could be due to connection speed, i tried to dl Mr.Cygnus' several times on my 48k at home and it times out after so many % so you got to lets say 13% then its finished and u assume its downloaded the whole thing. when i then went onto University lab comps dl instantly no corruption, or it could be how many ppl trying to dl it at same time :P Ask the techies ;)

yea i whould feel bad for bluedot (or whoever is lookin at these) if they had a bunch o 20 min audio commentarys. lol. before i noticed the 4 min limit (didnt notice till i looked for what we save file as) mine was like 17 min...and yea the replay was kinda short and kinda boring...my guess was to see how we could keep people entertained with a ghoul rush, wich imo is most boring strat ever

personally i thought there were quite alot of interesting little bits in that game things that took more than one watch to notice, even though some of them were obvious you still had quite alot to say depending on where you started your audio. Also the fact the game looked very one sided yet was very close with some pretty clever micro by both players.
