i am thinking about doing herbalism/alchemy on my new mage
if any of u have a mage, what are your professions and how do u find they work out?

i am looking to make a decent profit, while still benefitting for myself from my proffesion :)
what is your oppionion on my choice of proffessions?

I'm a lvl 56 troll mage.

Mining / Enchanting

They my 2 professions, pretty much i used mining to make myself money early in the game through copper/iron/mithril and used this money to but enchanting mats and skilled it up, depending on what server you are on will depend on how much you will/can make. I made nothing from enchanting until around skill lvl 275'ish and i am now 296 skill.

At lvl 56 i have got around 100g and have the ability to make a shitload of cash in a short time.

Herb/achem.
Tailor/enchant.

Are other professions that come to mind that would be pretty good for mage.

I got both herb and alch at 300 now and my potions of the mongoose and mighty rage potions are selling like a mofo, you need the recipe first though.

Professions are completely unrelated to your class unless you're playing purely by yourself and have no friends/guild.

yeah im a tailor/enchanter right now
when i hit level 20 I am going to drop tailoring for mining. For right now Im just farming humanoids and making green armor so i can disenchant it. It works out good.

I think what BloodBlade siad was half right. On my warlock i did tailoring and enchanting but i think you should keep tailing beocuse it saves you money from buying you own gear and you can keep disenchanting what you need. The main problem with this is that mages can use bandages effectively. if you can over come that and farm alot of slik and linen ect tailoring/enchanting is better

why would you want to use bandages on a mage?

If you let him >< almost every class has a dot they can keep on a mage. Even I sacrifice the odd earthshock for a flameshock to try to prevent first aid. That way they cant firstaid after the first poly, they have to do a second poly waiting for the dot to wear off. Each subsequent poly has a greater chance of breaking early, so they will very seldom get to poly, wait, poly, first aid, poly. It will usually break before then ><

but yeh, firstaid isnt even a profession, so this isn't really on topic is it :whistling

FA is awesome for mages. Pretty much 300 skill in FA means a 2nd life as heavy runecloth bandage almost gets you back to full HP.

polymorph then bandage

thats seems sorta pointless, i mean ive seen druids do it with entangle bandage and i do it with my hunter alot when thier frozen in ice trap but poly just gives enemy all his hp back and what, you heal like 400-600 from bandage.

What if a rogue has used his blinding powder/cold blood against you and you poly-bandage. Back to square one with him significantly weakened. Or if a druid/shaman has used their Nature's Swiftness, same thing. And I think best bandage is either 1500 or 2000 HP (6 or 8 secs I dunno)

Blue, they are saying that if a mage gets jumped, then the mage would poly/heal. Because if he was jumped then he didnt do any dmg to the other person, so who cares if poly heals?
