Ok i just got photoshop cs (8.0) and this is my first thing i did using photoshop, so i would like advice ^^.

I took rute's beast master and colored some parts of it, so i could get an idea of how photoshop works etc.

My main questions are how to creat textures in photoshop. As you can see, parts of it lack a lot of texture, but are colored and shaded well. So far, i can only figure out how to pretty much color and shade and use some of the filters, but it would be nice to add extra details or a specific texture that i want in the artwork. I know the photoshop comes with some texture filters but most of them arn't the exact texture that i want. Must textures or other extra decorations be drawn in by hand or can i add them with photoshop?

Most of the few and fairly crappy textures u see (the "leather" gloves and the semi-fury bands above the gloves) were done using some filters in Paint Shop Pro, but even they are not so good. Is attempting the impossible and using the photoshop pencil/pen/brush and with painstakingly impossible mouse-control, guide it to make a detail/texture on the picture the only way to accomplish this?

Thanks for any photoshop help and advice! and i guess i will post this in the photoshop forum too...
