Here is a look at some of the most recent ESWC Qualifiers (Korean, Danish, American & Russian).

The Korean ones weren't that big of a surprise for me, other then the fact the Susiria went 0-3 in the final round robin.

As for the Danish ones, I think these were the most exciting. The return of KaJ, Wralth coming out of nowhere and making it all the way to the Winner Bracket Finals, and Bjarke coming back from the dead to win 2 best of 5 series very convincingly.

USA ones also didn't come as a shocker, as the big American names (see: Shortround, ShoCk, Wizard, eTched) came out on top again.

Russian ones were kind of interesting, as I would have really expected Cara to come second to apm70, as I've neevr even heard of G).SweN.

What do you guys think of the results? Reactions etc.

I was glad to see KaJ again, and was rooting for him. Though, when he got beaten, I am happy that Bjarke won, as i think he has more potential to do good at a Lan. Really good job of him winning from the losers bracket 6-1!

I'm glad Bjarke won. I thought some Orc will win it after I saw 4 Orcs in final 8.

I expected KaJ to go all the way, but Bjarke and Wralth really impressed me in the Danish qualifer. In the korean qualifer there are no surprises, just like the u.s. one. Russia consolation final was a bo1 played on gnoll wood, no surprise Cara lost.

Not really any big surprises, except for Wraith, and KaJ.

I wasn't really that surprised about WraLth, he did pretty well in the online qualifier for the Nordic ACON5 finals as well. So it was more surprising to me that KaJ was back.

Cara hasn't really been that active lately, at least I haven't heard much from him, but Swen qualifying was still surprising as I haven't heard much about him at all.

In the Chinese qualifier, well, I don't know the Chinese scene all that well, but SoZ.syc was perhaps somewhat a surprise. Sky and Guangmo are both well-known.

I think ESWC will be nice this year. Only sad thing is that some players won't be able to go because of WEG 2.

I was shocked to see that the russian semis+finals were best of 1, anything can happen in one game, giving little room to demonstrate your potential, perhaps Cara would have come out on top had it been best of 3 or 5.

Only surprises were Cara losing in consolation finals to G)swen, and not advancing.

Pretty surprised by Swen, never heard of him and then he beats Cara all of the sudden.

For the better player it sucks when the format is best of one, as was done in Russia apparently, since this gives the weaker player a rather better chance to qualify. Since so few humans have or will qualify, Caravaggio will be missed...

Sad to see that some cannot make it due to WEG 2 but on the counterpart its wonderful that there are so many tournies that players are having to choose which to play for.
IMO. Wizard picked wrong hehe, I love his style and his play but he did not do well in WEG at all. He prolly had fun tho, a trip to korea is maybe a once in a life time thing. Pfft at all those guys saying WC3 is dying. Its only getting bigger! Old players retire and new players make there entrance into the scene. Sad to see that the quals arnt all set to a specific tournament formatt (IE Bo3 series for semis/finals atleast) but great that a new face is going to be representing his country. GL HF ShoCK and SeaWeeD .. heh you definatly surprised me ..
