I put this idea in the shoutcast forumn, but i think it could be cool for members to do it too so ill post it here :)

------

One of the new things Phreak and TRider seem to be trying out is real time audios - where they commentate on what they are thinking while they play the games.

My idea was to have both people playing the game do an audio at the same time. I dont know if any of ya'll would be up for that and/or are about the same play level, but i think being able to watch the same game from both sides of the game, see what you were both thinking would be cool.

Thanks

What you propose is not only a good idea, but also a very innovative one, as I do not know of that happening very often before.

One thing you should note (and people who make audios like this often can probably attest to this) is that, from what people have said after making such audios, it's far, far more difficult, because you only get one shot at it, and your mind will often be on the game, and you will find it more difficult to focus on commentating anything. Basically, just pretend you're talking yourself through the game, but yourself will actually be your listeners. This way, the people get to hear what you're thinking in the game, but at the same time, you're still focusing on the game itself, so your playing will not suffer much, if at all.

It is essentially a running commentary from start to finish, and if you can pull it off, the result is often a very good one.

This has been done quite often in the past actually, the reason its not done these days is its VERY difficult to keep your concentration on what you're doing AND cast at the same time with a running commentary thats cohesive. Tillerman and Crazyassassin both did these multiple times with very mediocre results and never bothered again. While its a nice idea, its hardly innovative and unfortunately not practical. As for casting the same game at the same time from different points of view, to my knowledge the only people to do it has been myself, Blackmeanie and Moonrider casting the same game at the same time from 3 different viewpoints and then merging them together in post production. Again, very time consuming and not practical. The best way that Ive found to do it is what is already by Cecil and others, recording their commentary and thoughts to the REPLAY, not the live event.

I tried to do a cast while playing, and it's incredibly difficult. I would say have the commentators play a game, then take the replay and comentate that. I wouldn't do it live, it's way hard.

Well, I enjoyed t-riders. His multitasking=gosu. lol but yea, live audios are hard. And, I don't know...they just dont seem worth it. cuz like, when I play a game, I want to be focused 100% on the game. But again t-riders live audio was good.

I'd be willing to try it, although I'm not that good, at either WC or Audios, I think it would be fun to try.
