thats pretty good actually, like for your first audio thats amazing, some good tips, because I don't play night elf, I don't really understand fully everything so I can't give you strat tips, but its pretty good

I enjoyed it man, NE mirror is actually my toughest matchup. Very good first audio, even though it was a little short.

I used AR Wizard for the recording, and my headset as the mic.

I passed it off to one of my friends for the production stuff, as he wanted to use Sound Forge to smooth the speech part and make the music flow right into the commentary.

FileFront seems to work pretty well; I was pleased at how accessible and fast it was. Thanks for the feedback Ameri(a, it's good to hear from a more experienced commentator.

Really nice audio. Your opponent was teh suck. I really dont know why people do the hunt bear tech versus potm hunts. It just doesnt make sense since huntress have incredible weakness to piercing damage and bear do normal damage. I really think archer dh to beastmaster (quil and bear) with dryads and a few dots just for farrie fire is much better. It is really effective againts potm hunts if done correctly. Its pretty easy to pick away at the huntress army and dh beastmaster make excellent tanks for your ranged units. Its almost like massing dotts againts orc because the matched damage types really are effective. Anyways just my 2 cents. I thought ur audio was awesome. Just wanted to say something about strat. Also isnt immolation the proper first skill againts huntress as potm has no real need for mana?

I actually do think mana burn is the best first skill as searing arrow can really hurt the DH if the PotM player can effectively snipe. Also, if the game doesn't end by the time that the Priestess gets level six, it is imperative that she is mana burned to prevent starfall.

Bears are effective because they are so much better than huntresses, have roar and rejuv, and make an insanely good meat shield. In my experience it's the 6-7 archers, the 2 dryads, and the naga that are most of your actual damage output against the hunts. Roared archers rip through unarmored units, and the bears' collision size is large enough to make it difficult for the hunts to break through your line. Finally, if you add too many dryads and DotTs, your opponent can get 4-5 glaives to rape their low hp and take out your army.

The problem with the Beastmaster as a second hero is that a good Elf player will use wisp dispel to make him pretty useless, while naga focus eliminates the easy and effective hunt shuffling.

I agree, it does look promising and would be unexpected for the other player. You just have to be sure to pull out the win pretty quickly after your tech, though.

I enjoyed it. Um what does NE do if the hu goes standard am mk? and pushes at tier 2? Its my only concern when doing bear tech.

I've played enough that I generally know when the push is coming (at approximately 8 minutes, I believe), so I make sure to be ready to TP to my base when they show up. Since I use the "barricade build" against humans and my lores are on the inside, I try and turtle until my tier three tech arrives and my bear research finishes. I take potshots with my archers and dispell any water elementals that get too close, as I discussed in my audio, until I can engage with master bears.

It's kind of tricky, but I hope that helps. If I get a good replay of that I might just do an audio on it down the road.

Alright, I've been listening to audio commentaries for roughly 3 years I believe (Starcraft and now Warcraft) and I can honestly say that MonteCristo is undoubtedly the best Audio commentator that I have ever heard.. Voice, Clarity of speech, Sincerity, and most importantly he blatantly knows exactly what he is talking about and is obviously a very good player. Also the fact that you commentate on your own games is a plus because it allows you to illustrate every little thing that you are doing and why, although I would like to hear you possibly do one of MooN's games or something. Anyways man keep them coming, looking forward to the next one.

Wow, O[a]K, thank you so much! That's one hell of a compliment; I hope I can live up to your expectations in the future. I'll be doing an audio on a NE mirror strat that I learned and used just recently that is not only ridiculously surprising for your opponent, but really fun to use as well. I'll hopefully get to record that later today.

If people want me to do a commentary on a gosu game I might just pick the recent match between Showtime and nc.Dude on Lost Temple, because that shows a great way to beat the mass bats strat.

Hah ok I was gonna do this strat in a game I just played but then he teched too so I was forced to go archer / dott which I had never actually tried before.. and it was soooo fucking good, I go archer/dott against alot of other races but it was so effective in the mirror.. even though he had dryads... cyclone still worked really well.. But yeah anyways.. interesting strategy I don't know what it is but I have something against hippo's ... but still I plan on trying it out next time my opponent goes double AoW hunts in the mirror. Thanks for the audio montecristo and also to wicked who did what I believe was his first audio from a NE's perspective which was also very good.

I just replaced my video card that was spazzing out, so I haven't been playing at my house for the past few days. I would have done an audio on NE vs UD, because I have been practicing a lot with PANT3RA lately, but I couldn't save the replays since I was at a LAN center. Zap and I have also been trying for that dual audio, but nothing yet.

Also my show is going up in the last two weekends of July (The Importance of Being Earnest), so I'm currently in rehearsal overdrive.

Finally, I've been playing this week in order to prepare for my local WCG qualifier that's going on tomorrow. I've been more focused on practicing than recording audios lately, so bear with me!

Good ghoul garg replay. I was one who requested, but I think I've got it under control at the moment. I like to go chippo, it seems to work fairly well (if you upgrade enough). Also, I didn't like your base build too much. Your wisps were very far from the wells, so you didn't even have the opportunity to micro them. It did keep the ghouls out of your base pretty well though. Thanks again.

I'll still give it a try, I just like the ability to micro my wisps to the wells when the gargs come. You do some great audios, however. Is you in the picture you posted, or are you the director?

I like the idea of this base build. One drawback is that you're quite vulnerable at tier 2 when you start building your T2 ancients outside your moonwell range. A push then from the UD would be more complicated to handle, I think. Then again, if he goes ghouls/gargs, he won't be able to really push at that moment so I guess you're fine.

Ok, I've created a brand new Hamachi channel: MemberAudios, password wcr. With the exception of myself, if you are in this channel you MUST be on Hamachi. Please click on your username and log out if you are not ready to play so that other people can get in the channel. This should free up some space for people who actually want to play. I just listened to it. Great commentary again. I just wonder a bit why you didn't abuse expos and expo like at the 4 o'clock position as well as the 2 o'clock one. Losing one expo would not have set you back then and you would not have needed to tp to save your expo at that moment.

Very good comment on tping if you're in a bad position BTW. That's so true.

I listened to your audio because I'm not very good at game tactics. I'm very good micro and win most my match but i usually just scout and make whatever i think will counter (i dont play ne).. u do a good job of planning your game ahead of time and it's that area that i lack most..

I think you need to use ALT a lot more. I only watched game 5 but you had a hunt with 5% hp for 20ish seconds that you could have either melded or ran back to your base. I'm suprised the orc didn't notice it. After that hunt died you got a grunt to 5% hp and then switched targets to a full hp raider. After the raider died you ran out with a near full hp DH and let the grunt live.

I not sure what ur APM is but alt is very quickly to use and wins a lot of game under 5 minute for me. :) :clown: :lol: :rofl: :flex: :)

and... crow form idea is not wise for average players. archer and dot die very quickly against top orc and if they using raids then u will get ensnare. I think it's good idea but the orc will most likely net them and u can be doing better micro by meld/moving back/cyclone and like i was saying use them ALT key. Good but not good for average player. :clown:

also.. some tip for micro is to anticipate the action.. If u know you're going to be in a fight, compensate for game delay 0.3~ second and meld early.. i see a lot of players 'try' to meld but lose the archer before it works.. They lost the archer not because they are slow or have bad micro, they are just not anticipating the fight. I think you could do very well with archer first with practice. Dont be afraid to lose some game because it will pay off in the end to play against top

You sure?? Either way it's still an action, and it's extremely helpful. I've just recently started to use it full time. It helps for picking off weak units and trying to save your own.

yeah believe me i love alt more than anything in the world =P i went into a game and tried it out by only pressing alt for like a minute then quitting and it said i had 0 apm. If it did count i would have an APm of like 30000, i constantly press it during battle (my micro still blows) but in conclusion: alt rules but not counted in apm.

i know it not count for apm... apm doesnt matter. Im saying that if u are to use alt key more you will see more units with low hp and be able to kill them because you see it.. instead of letting them run away with 10 hp. If you have to 'try' to have high APM then you are probably making things worse. Actions should have purpose and each purpose should be to win but i find a lot of north american players post that it's good to practice to be fast but I think people should be more concerned about doing what is a good action rather than an extra action :clown: :clown: :clown: <3

Well first off yeah i agree that alt would help with saving low hp units, and apm does matter, i dont want to start an arguement but i have an at partner that has an apm of 30 on average and he blows.... hes played for a year but has no micro at all. so i think that having a super high apm of just spam isnt important but having a high apm of meaningful actions is definitely important =P

Nice idea Monte, for the live audio. It's a pity that you can't concentrate on playing and talking at the same time, so maybe it would help if you just said the things that are going through your head right now (like aaaarg, left an archer behind, focus the BM down etc.) It was decent for a first live AC, but I'm sure you could do better :)

In any case, your audios are much better than the frontpage audios (except Uruk maybe), so please keep them up.

nice audio, i suck and you can probably beat me with no trouble Monte, but i noticed a few things that i would like to point out in a non-threatening constructive way. 1. You didnt build guys during battles(maybe because your doing audio and microin' but still you racked up some gold during the battles) 2. you should have gotten a staff of preservation with your massive gold (that would have saved some bears throughout the game) but overall good audio and congrats on the win
