Well, I wouldn't call Swen beating Fury once an upset. He is Russian and he qualified. Russia is full of very skilled players, so his qualification for the ESWC means that he has beaten most of them.
And also, he is probably Orc, so it's not a surprise he won.
And ToRRen is elf so his win over FoV is justified.

Is it like WC3L where the loser of the first map picks the 2nd?
DonGiovanni

It's just that I've never heard of him. But you're right, if he qualified in Russia he's probably not that bad.
But I'm still surprised ToRRen could take a map from FoV.
First three advance to the next round, right?
I don't think it's losers choice in Bo2, they probably just draw maps. Otherwise the loser would have a slight advantage.
Next round is gonna be Bo3 though.

Group 1 finished now: FuRy takes 1st, Sky 2nd and Swen 3rd. Bjarke is out.
FuRy first played 1:1 vs Sky, then they played a third map to decide 1st place, which FuRy won. So it's FuRy 2:1 Sky.
Group 2 is almost finished as well, but I think the standings won't change with the last game: Endure 1st, Deadman 2nd, Santo 3rd. Zerter is out.
Oh and Grubby won 2:0 vs Inso in Group 3.
Group 4 has finished as well, here it's FoV 1st, Paulyan 2nd and ToRRen 3rd.

Impressive by Grubby until now: 7 Games, 14 Maps won, 21 Points... flawless
And his group wasn't too easy.
Nice that your gallery is not insider-only for once KidA :)
And of course thanks for the interviews, videos and ... REPLAYS!!
Great job!

There are a lot more ESWC reps on the SK-site, and better coverage too. You'll also find interviews with the players there plus videos of some of the players playing. The sk site owns any other international site when it comes to scene news, that's a known fact.

On top of all that sk's site is alot faster than replays.net

I don't like the SK site either, but they do have good coverage.
Get back to topic please. Who do you think will advance to Single Elimination?
I'd go with: Grubby, FoV, FuRy, Sky, Insomnia, Creolophus, Spell, Sweet

In my opinion, sk-gaming.com does amazing coverage of events like these. The layout makes things easy to understand, and the feature pieces are always very thorough.
It would be heaven if it weren't for that damn insider ;).
Registering only takes a minute and you don't have to pay money. It's hardly worth griping about as it takes so little effort, and you get access to quality wc3 materials.

The only things plaguing SK are the forum trolls in the General Forums. Coincidentally, many of them are banned members of this site. There is nothing wrong with the site as a whole nor its content. In fact, much of SK's replays and content are matched by few, if any other sites.
Hating a site simply because it requires a login (and it literally takes 30 seconds to make an account there, and perhaps 5 minutes for a confirmation e-mail and password) is unduly harsh.

Third game of Grubby vs FoV was damn nice. That game of FaTC vs Inso in the rep pack was awesome too, I love human mirrors on turtle. ^^
