Would be interesting to see how future leagues work. With so many top clans appearing nowadays, we might start seeing a full league system, like you'd see in professional sports. That could prove very interesting.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Would be cool if you could practice in the lower leagues and eventually get 'called up' to the higher ones if you were able to get good enough.

The only problem is that clans are a bit more personal in a lot of cases than teams are in sports.

Yeah it would be really cool if we see a full league system, i don't think that's gonna happen tho, at least not this year.

The window for applying to the season III qualifier is over. You have to wait for the next season to try and qualify.

Remember the days when KTL was an azeroth clan league? This competition has officially ended that.

WPL stated this they indeed are placed in the US, but they never wanted thier league to be only US teams. Hopefully, a new league where the less good US teams can compete with eachother again.. No doubt that most of the safe clans (the ones that got into season III by competing in season II) will all be kicked out, and cant re-qualify..

BTW, the league will still be on azeroth realm

Even as they admitted on their site, they're ditching the clans that made them in an effort to 'grow.' They just want the fame of being a top Warcraft league instead of sticking with their roots. Which is of course, very sad. People even sell-out in wc3, kind of funny.

It's not the fact that the WPL is selling anyone out. We're still giving them the opportunity to play, but if we were to just use the same American teams over and over again, American WC3 would never grow. By giving teams a chance to play against people outside the country, it lets them gain experience and increase their skill.

Ktl was designed for American clans to have a chance to grow. On the contrary, now it's trying to pull in clans from every reach of the globe.

Hopefully a league will come by and fix this problem, but until then, a lot of clans were left out in the cold on this. I feel sorry for the teams already qualified. The majority of them won't last long under that competition.

And playing amazing clans won't help that. Right...

Not clans that will destroy them. He's a nice comparison

Remember the wc3l qualifiers? Imagine if all those teams were in Wc3l and played against teams like 4k, mouz, sk, and mym every game. They'd get destroyed. They're great players, but not on that level.

Now take those who played in the wc3l qualifiers and have them play against current ktl people. Same situation, same outcome.

After the ICL died because of shitty admining the ACL was created for North American clans to form a sense of community on the Azeroth realm (let's face it Lordaeron is dead). The KTL was formed later on with the same purpose. Now that the 2 are together and there is a community base on Azeroth that is stronger now than in September when there were no leagues, they can move forward rather than stagnate. This could be considered "selling out" the lower level azeroth clans, but I'm pretty sure something will be made eventually to help them (If someone with the right amount of patience, balls, and free time is willing.) Making a league takes a lot of work, and when the opportunity comes to expand the league obviously the admins are going to take it.

OF course, my opinion differs from yours so I must not know shit. Because god forbid, it could never be you.

This league is not necessary to play players of that quality. The league was created to have an equal playing ground, not a 'Let's pull in as many other clans as possible to push our own name and push the other clans out as they all hit rock bottom.'

I have to agree with Krossinc.

The new clans are just too strong, sure as hell you can call it "good practice", but it completely ruins what KTL was intended for.

All the teams that don't have to requalify for Season 3 are going to get bashed and will never get into season 4. I mean, this is matching people who play for fun, fun warcraft clans against sponsored multigaming serious european clans.

Besides, it's not like you're gonna learn a lot by getting bashed 2-0 every week. I think the competition level changes just too hardly.

It's not the WPL's fault that MCL is taking a break and many of the teams flocked to us for competition. How exactly does playing better people not make you better?
