Grubby has done it, he's world champion!
Pretty easy wins vs Deadman on Lost temple and turtle rock
On LT (grub at 9 and apm70 at 12), Deadman went warden and fast expanded pretty well, but grubby came and towered him (he had BM and SH ), Grub killed Warden and killed altar and it was gg!
On TR (deadman top right and grub down right), Deadman went clasical dotts strat with DH BM and FL, Grubb went BM and TC, he was able to counter mass cyclone pumping mass raiders from dual bestiary (in addition to grunts) with no expand, deadman was owned, sorry for him (he looked a bit under pressure while Grubby ws cool).
GG Grubby
the moral of this story: The dutch guy always wins...
j/k any links to replays, can't find them on replays.net...

no replays yet I saw it on a live coverage on vbcast.com...as I'm in France the streaming was really good! The mass raiders stuff was pretty entertaining, It was clear Gruby was gonna win before the battle started!
Oh, and the dutch guy was really relaxed, he scratched his head slowly several times ^^.

Replays will probably be released tomorrow. The ftp here doesn't get updated until the day after usually. Was a great game though, watched it on the main stage. A more detailed report is available here: http://www.gotfrag.com/war/news/3784/

To summarise: Grubby already won World Cyber Games 2004 and now wins ES World Cup 2005, what makes him the first player to wield both titles and therefore the most succesfull, and maybe also strongest player ever. GG King of Orc!

Jesus those 2 final maps were pure ownage:
1st game he towered him in under 10 minutes.
2nd game he somehow countered his mass dotts with mass raiders and won in 12 minutes.
He played flawlessly...

From one player winning? Not quite. Grubby is just an incredible player who is better than his opponents even when fighting imbalance. Can't judge it on one of, if not the best player in the world.

I watched the stream to. For me, the only good game he played during the whole event was versus Fov. Everyone else = Garbage(figuretivly).
That gives him...
WCG 2k4: Champion
ESWC 2k5: Champion
...and what else?

From Grubby on www.esportsea.com
"I've put an end to my losses by perseverance, dedication and the right mindset. In January 2004 I won the Cyber X Games in Las Vegas. In October 2004 I won World Cyber Games 2004 in San Francisco. In early 2005 I put CPL Turkey and European Cyber Games Hannover under my belt. I'm still practicing all the time which is required for me to stay on top of the game."

i dont think we're gonna see too many mass dots anymore. which (in my opinion) is good because i was always annoyed with that strat. it just... never seemed that effective. *shrug*
Honestly I have never lost a single game against mass dotts. Granted, I never played a spirit_moon like player doing it on me. But I never even did anything special. Grunts + raiders + tier2 push = GG. I have said it all along key to beating this strat is killing the archers early.

WCG 2k4: Champion
ESWC 2k5: Champion
...and what else?
CXG2k4: Champion.
WCG Euro 2k5: Champion, anyways it think there was an even like that he won.
4 unit mix worked fine for NE before the mass dotts strategy became popular. I don't know why so many pros decided to switch to dotts.

Grubby vs Reign on LT is good too. Too bad the better person in that game didn't not win.
