View Full Version : BNET profile analyzer

I am going to attempt to create a program using C++ or java that can analyze people's profiles and kind of "determine" what they will most likely do against you. Basically, what I am trying to create is a program that will:
-Look at an html file from a bnet profile.
-Look at each line of HTML code, and eventually pick out one with a usefull bit of information, such as the number of times the player has used a hero.
-After comparing the number of times each hero has been used, it will output the hero that is most used.
-Using similar processes, I can pick out other useful information as well.
There are just a couple of things that I don't know or need help with. Firstly, I need a C++/Java compiler that is free. Borland is an obvious choice, but I can't get it to work. If any of you know of any other good free compilers, post them please. I have more problems that I know I will come across, but firstly I need a compiler to go anywhere. Any help would be good if anyone of you know much about programming or have any clue what I'm talking about above.

wow that would be so awsome if such a program existed.. buti bet blizzard will quickly put it into the "HACKS" section of their detection thingy (if it runs in the game) because it will basicly tell you what u will be faced with and you can easily counter it :\ if blizz does not consider it a hack it will be a pretty neet program to have around :X and run up in games to cheack youropponent out :D

Hey man for java programing i use textpad (no i don't mean notepad) to compile my java programs. Even though i know the basic of java programming what you are asking is beyond my capabilities. Anyways you should be able to find the program you need at www.download.com. Its the whole program even though like every 20 compiles it asks you to buy the program but you don't have to don't worry. If you need help setting it up just ask me i should be able to help you wiht any compiler issues. And if you do get a program to do it send it my way.

Blizz wouldn't consider it hacks, because there is no way in hell I be able to get it into the game, lol. I'm thinking that it would be a seperate program that you would run without having WC3 on, which means that if you wanted to use it while in the middle of the game, you would have to alt-escape and then wait for the program to analyze the profile and then output the stats. In that time, you will probably have already missed too much of the game. However, it would be useful before custom games in say clan wars. If you knew who you were going to face, you could run the analyzer before the game. I don't think this would be considered hacking or cheating, because you could have looked at the profile and done some math anyways, this is just getting a program to do it for you faster.
By the way, redfox, do you remember the name of the program that you use? I DLed a couple of things like Pad+ and JavaPad, which I'll test out later.

lol, it would seem very hard to make something like that. And it is pretty much useless unless u custom. Unless u load it up really quick during the loading screen :P .

Nah i disagree, yes it could be ran not off the game itsself, but you could have it bring up a layer in front of the game with a transperent BG, Just like when you bring up the Monitor Adjustments thing on your screen it could have small tabs like
Likely Hero :Beatsmaster - Tells likly hero
Likely Strad:Archers - Lells likly Hero back up units
Likely Game time:15:50 - May be able to deturmen by game avrages if his a rusher or techer etc
Likely Gold Income:3400 If he is likly to expant by gold over time = Rah Rah
:D Simple, NOW MAKE IT!!!

=D, that is basically what I had in mind. I have the algorithms pretty clear in my mind at the moment, although I will put them on paper soon. I'll begin writing the program on Saturday. BTW, one of the problems that I know I will encounter is the fact I do not no how to access webpages using a program. In the early versions of the the program you will have to "save file as" with the HTML files, but that is unpractical, so do any of you know how to access a webpage using C++ or Java?

wow that would be awesome. I think that would be great if it did it automatically as soon as it finds a game it does the profile thingy and then messedges you once you join the game with those stats. So it has like a war3 handle so that it could messedge you those stats without u having to alt tab out to take a peek.

Isn't this called cheating?
Example :
A boy cheated in a test and was caught by the teacher. The boy said to the teacher, "No I'm not cheating you dumb*** teacher. I copied that girl's answer because I could have done it myself too. It's faster this way. If I have studied I could have do it myself too!" No offence, but IMO, It IS cheating.
But of course, it'll be really neat program but, I don't think anyone of use should use it. :(

The coolest thing ever. You could probably run it during the loading screen, if its fast enough

during the loading screen.. now this is neat =)

What you say?
And the program sounds kickass, but it would work best for game time, heroes used, and income... Maybe also win% against your race, and most likely hero in that match-up... :) But then you would have to be able to look into the full game listing...
