Wizard Follows ShoCK to Check Six
The German based clan mTw recently lost the American player ShoCK. Now they take another loss as Matthew "Wizard" Anderson leaves the team to join ShoCK in Check Six.
"We are very excited to welcome Wizard into the check6 lineup. With this addition we are a step closer to gathering all of the top American players under one flag, as well as moving closer towards competing for a top 4 finish in WC3L," says x6 manager David "pootie" Ballou.
Wizard's results in the WC3L this season have not exactly been stellar. He has played in two out of four clan wars, and he lost 0-2 to Play.Spider and 1-2 to pB.GlaiVe. Yet pootie is not concerned about his new recruit.
"Despite his rather poor results thus far, everyone knows what he is capable of when he is in top form. Also it is much easier to be active when all of your teammates are very good friends and everyone is training together," he thinks.
When moving to Check Six, pootie announced that there would be some high-profile players added to the roster. With ShoCK and Wizard in place, he feels satisfied for now, though he doesn't rule out that there may be more additions in the future.
Check Six's position in the WC3L is not yet secured, though the team has been in negotiation with rS Gaming and they are getting close to a solution. rS's biggest concern was that if x6 failed, the WC3L spot would get lost, and so most likely, KiLla will remain the owner of the WC3L account while the team name and logo will be changed to x6. "Basically, rS just wants to have the spot if Check Six fails," pootie confirms.
In between the negotiations and the clan switch, the players have had a pretty tough clan war on their minds. On Tuesday, the clan meets 4Kings. As the new additions are barred from play until playday five, the rS - or x6 - lineup will be essentially the same as before.
"4K is the toughest opponent in the league, along with SK and perhaps mouz, but so far we have shown we can play with the big boys, and I think we can make the match close," pootie says.
He does not feel that their practice has been hurt by the ongoing issues, quite on the contrary. "Our practice has been improved since we have made the move to check6 because there was a lot less pressure on everyone about the whole thing. While we were still working on the transfer, everyone was constantly worried about what WC3L would say about the spot and the fact that we knew rS was unwilling to give the spot up at the time. Once we made the move both of these factors declined in that the ball was not so much in our court and it was more up to rS and WC3L at that point and less up to us."
This is Check Six's lineup:
