just wondering if anyone wants to give a general list of where to find herbs/and oilies/firefinsnappers/any other fish that you need.


So far

peacebloom/silverleaf/earthroot/mageroyal/briarthorn---> Barrens, silverpine forest

Bruiseweed- i found a lot in ashenvale

steel bloom- i found alot of it where hte highperch wyvs are in 1k needles.



Now that im at 150 ALCH (and finally pretty high fishing skill too), i was wondering if anoyne could direct me to a good place to farm life root kingsblood and goldthorn.....thanks!

Also, i found a couple oilies in ratchet, but not enuff, the zoram strand/zoram outpost is pretty good, i have gotten a good amount of oilies, and some firefins. My fishing is at 100 or so now, so if anyone else could tell me where i could be going (btw level 27 priest horde)

hrm, until you are a bit higher level you have to stick to hillsbrad I think to level it up fastest. Liferoot spawns very nicely along the river, but its lame that southshore guards can swim now so dont go too far south. you can also hit up arathi.

when you are high enough level you can head up to alterac mountains. when you are at like level 40 you can just get it to 300 in like an hour by running around swamp of sorrows.

[Myth]

As alliance i did all of my 100-225 herbalism in wetlands, ridiculous amounts of liferoot/kingsblood there. But i can see how that gives complications as a horde priest :P
I think the area between Tarren Mill and Durnholde keep has some spawns of kingsblood, and as d-bos said, the river. Other than that i can't really give great spots, i guess any zone between 20 and 40 will have liferoot/kingsblood. Goldthorn is a bit too high to gather as a lvl 27, i've mostly found it in arathi (30-40 zone) and swamp of sorrows (35-45 zone).

This is all i can remember off the top of my head. I never went ot herb places like silithus or azshara(i know there's alot of dreamfoil, silversage, and sansam in azshara) so those i'm pretty clueless about. But all the stuff should be pretty accurate.

I think you mean blindweed instead of bruiseweed for un'goro :P

And yea that's pretty accurate. Burning steppes and Searing Gorge pretty much only have firebloom, except for a few black lotus and silversage spawns in BS.

well im a higher level now and higher level herb and alchemy. I just got to a high enough level to pass onto 225+alchemy, and i noticed the first couple of recipes require purple lotus (and some of thee useful 200+ ones like spell resistance). Generally they go with things i alread have (like khadgar) and its also needed for the philospher's stone(which i would like to get so i can start transmuting myth to truesilver). Just wondering what the lowest level spot i could find it is? and what the respawn time is for it (incase i find a spot that is safe to get it ill farm the 1 spot while watching a movie and waiting for it...)

Purple lotus can be found around ruins. A few notable places are around the ogre encampments in Tanaris, the level 38-42 troll camps in STV, and the Hinterlands troll camps.

The earliest spot I found it in was the nonelite dwarven digger spot when you come out of Loch Modan into the Badlands.

Does alchemy make more money than enchanting?

alchemy doesnt really make much money except for in the early levels when it is alright so long as you put in quite a bit of extra time. mining is more effortless.

if you are not in a guild and thus can sell all the pots you make you can make lots of money. potions and herbs are in huge demand. a nonlazy alchemist can do extremely well, don't listen to d-bos!

Herbs:
Silverleaf = Starting Zones, easy to find

Peacebloom = Starting Zones, east to find

Earthroot= 20-40 level areas, look near mountains and hills. This one can be annoying to find enough of, if you insist on making lots of low level potions.

Briarthorn/Swiftthistle = 20-40 level areas, the southern barrens is the best option for Horde, Westfall is as far as I can tell the best place for Alliance. Swiftthistle sells fairly well, since rogues always need some for tea.

Bruiseweed = 20-40 level areas, you will find alot more than you will need

Mageroyal = 20-40 level areas, you will find alot more than you will need while questing.

Stranglekelp = Annoying to get enough of. The best spots are the Zoram Strand in Ashenvale, the southern coasts of Straglethorn Vale, and near Menethil Harbour in the wetlands.

Wild Steelbloom = Very annoying to find. Look for it in Stonetalon Mountains, Thousand Needles and near the center of Duskwood.

Kingsblood = Easy to find, and this stuff is a goldmine, selling large amounts of it can finance your first mount easily. Ashenvale, the Badlands and Stranglethorn Vale has masses of the stuff.

Grave Moss = Very little to be found, luckily you will hardly ever use it. The Kodo Graveyard in Desolace, and the various cemetaries in Duskwood have good amounts of it.

Liferoot = You will find alot more of this stuff than you will need. It is along rivers in pretty much any 25-50 area. The Wetlands and Ashenvale have alot of it.

Fadeleaf = Fairly easy to find, look in the Swamp of Sorrows, Stranglethorn Vale and the Arathai Highlands. Sells well, since rogues need it for blinding powder.

Goldthorn = Can sometimes be hard to find, since several mid level potions need it. Stranglethorn Vale, the Badlands and Alterac Mountains/Hillsbrad Foothills are the best option. Look in especially hilly areas.

Khadgar's Whisker = You will find tons and tons of this stuff, long after you don't even want it anymore.

Wintersbite = Needed for frost oil, it will ONLY be found in the snowy regions of Alterac Mountain.

Firebloom = Tanaris, the Badlands and the Searing Gorge. I don't use it much, but it always seems to sell for some reason. (I wonder if I am missing something...)

Purple Lotus = Found almost anywhere in the world, starting from level 25 areas. It only grows in old ruins. Best place to look as Horde would probably be the ruins in Azshara, however you will probably find alot more than you need of it. I have 2 stacks in the bank, and it just won't sell.

Arthas' Tears = This stuff can only be in places where Arthas once was in Warcraft 3. Hence, The Plaguelands and Felwood are the best options here. Only afew, not very much used potions (gift of arthas isn't all that great) need it, and it doesn't sell very well.

Blindweed = I have never used this stuff for a potion, nor have I sold any, however you will find it best in the Swamp of Sorrows, and the tar pits in the Un'Goro Crater.

Ghost Mushroom = Needed to make ghost dye, these babies are worth alot. They will only drop in specific places, the only 2 I know of are Skulk Rock in the Hinterlands, and the eastern part of Dire Maul.

Sungrass = Found in any 40+ level area, it sells well and is needed for alot of potions. Azshara seems to be the best area to get it, from my own experiance.

Gromsblood = Gromsblood can be found in any area infested with demons. Felwood near the satyr camps is the best place I know of. Sells fairly well too.

Dreamfoil = Found lying all over the place in Azshara, the Plaguelands and Felwood. Sells very well and is easy to find. Major Mana Potion needs it, so people eat the stuff up like chocolate.

Plaguebloom = Found only in Felwood and the Plaguelands. Sells well, Major Healing Potion needs it, so it's always in high demand.

Golden Sansam = Most expensive herb out there. The demand for this stuff is BIG (AND I MEAN BIG!), alot of commonly used potions at 60 need this stuff. You can find it lying around Azshara, and any other zone of higher level. Sadly, it is sparse all over, so you have to spend alot of time looking for it.

Mountain Silversage = This stuff is a real bitch to find. The best place to look for it is by riding along the outer rim of Un'Goro, moving up into the hills whenever possible. Sells very well, as Major Healing potions need it also.

Icecap = You will only find this stuff in Winterspring, however it is all over the place there and easy to stack up on. Major Mana potions need it, so it will always sell well.

Black Lotus = Needed to make flasks, the only place I have ever found these things are in Winterspring and the Eastern Plaguelands. I don't know if it drops in Silithus or any other 55-60 zones. I have tried to sell them afew times, to no avail, so the demand really isn't that high. (Probably because you only need 1 to make a flask, and flasks aren't made that much at all)

As for the fish:
Oily Blackmouths and Firefin Snappers drop in good numbers in any 20-40 zone.
Stonescale Eels are best caught at Steamweedle Port in tanaris

As for selling at high levels;

Major Mana, Major Healing, Free Action, Elixir of the Mongoose and the Mighty Rage potions all sell well at 60, and can give off a good profit.

the best potion to sell is greater arcane elixir if you get your hands on the recipe. I was the first one to sell these on my server afaik (perhaps an uninformed player picked up the recipe first and let it rot in his alch panel, not sure). I payed 100g for the recipe. at first no one cared, but eventually people wised up to the ownage that spell power is and they started selling like crazy.

Few comments on Allied's post:

Earthroot: Isn't 20-40, it spawns in the newbie areas (5-20)

Kingsblood: Loads in Wetlands too

Firebloom: Needed for goblin rocket fuel, many players who focus on pvp have engineering and some good items need fuel.

Ghost Mushroom: Also found in Maraudon

Black Lotus: Also found in Burning Steppes, i know at least one spawn at the altar of storms. I think it can be found in any 55+ area.

Allied, we (FSBO) are probably the only Horde guild that uses flasks since we're the only ones in BWL. You really don't need them before that.

Try msging Meese to see if he is in need, we use about 10 flasks a week.

P.S. I've found black lotus in Silithus recently around the hives.
