I can hardly believe I started this game back up. I am currently a lvl 18 Dwarf Pally (Almost 19) But I really have stopped caring about leveling, for now at least, for one big reason: Fishing.

I mean, does anyone else find catching fish and cooking it strangly addicting? It is so easy, because you can get your first fish recipe at 50 cooking and you pretty much have it made; you can sit there all day long catching fish and many fishing spots have a campfire nearby anyways, so you can cook as you catch.

Now of course this isn't very profitable for me right now, as I am still in the very low end places for fishing (mostly because of low fishing skill still). I can only sell, to vendors, the fish I catch for 1c even after its cooked, so I am probably better off giving to a lowbie (ecspecially newbies :happy: ) and make someone slightly happy.

So I guess the main question here, is: Is this ever going to be profitable at higher levels of fishing? I am mostly doing this for fun, but if I make a gold out of it someday, then that'd be cool too.

... just lvl, if you wanna fish do it at around lvl 30, it can become VERY profitable then for a lvl 30 =x especially if you are addicted. FAPS etc.

the 'deviate delights' used to be very profitable on my server when they first came out I havn't checked in a while but a friend of mine around lvl 20 got the reciepe and was making tons of money (at least 100gp by the end of his crazy run). There are also so high end trade skill items that you can get that some people clammer over (I forget what they are exactlly).

The biggest thing now for most servers is opening AQ and for cooking the things you need to turn in are Spotted Yellowtail, Rainbow Fin Albacore, Roast Raptor, Baked Salmon, and Lean Wolf Steak.

So instead of giving them away or selling them to merchants - definatly help your server out (if they havn't already got 100%) by turning those items in. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wareffort/servers.html

Thanks. I am level 20 now and I have just been mass gathering. I have been making some good money and not just through fishing. I have my own little thing going where I just gather a bunch of stuff and turn in a bunch to the AH. There is a plant that I sold 20 of for 4g at the AH and I can usually get 20-40 of them each time I go out to look for them. I know that may not seem like a lot but got being at level 20 it is and its so easy too as I barely have to do any fighting. I guess when I get my professions maxed out for level 20, then I will have to go on to leveling some more. Until I get to level 35... then I get to do some more mass gathering :) I just love having a lot of money

edit: wow.... I just looked at the list for what is needed for the war effort and realized that half of the stuff I am making money off of is on that list. So that means after its all done, then there will be no more money for me... And I really hate being a pally, because every pally at level 60 I see looks all the same and it disgusts me... I dunno, I am kinda discouraged from playing this now... I think I will just go back to wc3.

hmm, on the upside u got 1 char to 20 so now u sorta know the game, plus u have a little gold to work with. Make a class that you think is fun. Ijust rolled Female Gnome warrior with pink hair. Its awesome i go to the barrens lay some landsmines. EVERYONE attacks the pink haired gnome....EVERYONE. Its mainly for comedy

Well, considering how much I play the game these days, I have actually goten very far from the point of my original post. I got to about 24-25 with that Paladin, and then one day tried a RPPvP server (Since there was like a 500 line to get into my server) And have been playing that since. I know I will probably be called a stupid gay RP loser noob F**, but I don't really care. I think this server combines two very important elements to get the most out of the game (Normal server would be the worst! Little PvP, and NO RP! Glad I never played a Normal server). So, anyways, now I have a level 25 Warlock, and I like it a lot more than the Paladin. It more fun, because it's not just attack attack attack heal, and then repeat. Now Paladins, I know, are very good at survival, but I think Warlocks are even better, and I like to solo a lot, so that's good.

And yes, I still love fishing :) But, I don't obsess about it as much as I used to.
