lich is weak, kill him early and kill him often with ganks (preferably with heroes that have windwalk to avoid the ulti)

killing lich early is near an impossible task because of his short powerful nukes with the exception of maybe if you have a pugna to keep the lich at bay. chasing lich beyond tower with 2+ people is just stupid cause you'll get a chainfrost to your face.

Strengths heroes can tank Liche's combo but that doesn't mean they can kill him. He has frost armor which will slow any melee attackers by a good margin. It just so happens that all strength heroes are melee. Point 1 for Lich.
I can't tell what you mean by dispels, because the only hero with a real dispel of any kind is Medusa with purge and Storm Panda's dispel. Maybe you meant disables? If you did mean disables then you are correct, he does't. He is a team oriented hero and meant to combo off of other heroes ultimates and stuns, he doesn't need stuns of his own. Plus, slow is a type of disable. It helps with chasing and finishing off weak heroes.
Yes, he is easily nuked early game, but then you run into the problem of being able to keep casting on him like he will to you. Lich has an unlimited amount of mana, the only other hero that can do that early game is the Keeper of the Light, who will get owned by Lich if the user is playing properly. You can spam nukes on Lich all you want, he'll hit you back and heal up with a ring of regeneration or a sapphire water. Afterwards he will proceed to dark ritual a creep and nova you some more.
Stuns and disables do mess up Lich fairly hard, you're right. His prowess shows through the use of chain frost in larger fights which consist of 3+ players. In these situations he can fade into the back of the battle and let off chain (it has a very far casting range.) Also, like any other hero, Lich can get a Linken's Sphere very easily due to his ability to sustain his position in lanes and having a fast projectile to last hit creeps with.
Linken's can mess up his combo but no more so than any other heroes. That's all I really have to say about that.
He's not useless in a solo fight by any means. If it's literally just one hero standing in the middle of no where then sure, he isn't going to kill him because chain frost doesn't have a target to bounce to. Really though, I can think of hundereds of scenarios where other heroes will lose a fight or become useless, that isn't to say that it has any effect on their overall effect on the outcome of any given game.


A lot of you guys are taking simiwizard's post far to literal. He doesn't think Lich is really "imbalanced" so much as him being a strong one. I'm going to have to agree with him, too, Lich is really freaking strong. When played correctly with proper help from his team, Lich can really begin to dominate entire teams with chain frost and support them with mekansm spam / frost armor.

I did mean "disable", i obviously use dispel for like every (stun,hex,etc) my bad on that one, also, most str heroes has a stun (Sven,leoric,Magnus, Cenutar,etc) and probably good damage too, and you mentioned it that they can tank the lich's nukes, so why not killing him? and what i mean by " solo fights" is the times when you run into a solo hero in the woods or the river etc, where you cast nova+ulti for like 700 damage then die.

Lich is cool, super annoying slow yet a lot of mana to spam, worse than zeus.
Well some heroes can kill it very easily if lich is alone>< eg jug, tiny, venom, sandking... in few seconds.

Lich is imbalance cause of the ritual he gets to level 5-6 first and if he deny ull level even slower. Plus the spamming nova early really makes u not farm and not kill him which is sad that is why lich is used most in leagues lol.

Dark ritual + denying creeps, and novaing you so it's really hard for you to deny.
If a lich is against one or two melee heroes in the start of a game, the Lich will become imba and the 2 melee heroes will suck badly ^^. Lich is a very powerful lane/team hero.

have you guys tried battle lich build? its also very fun ^^ my build is like a blink reaver, skadi and if game goes on mkb and hyper. This build means you wont be as useless as other intel heroes might be late game ^^ (expensive build tho, but farming with lich is easy)
