Yooo

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here it goes...
A few days ago I played someone in the top 20 ladder on azeroth, I nearly won that game and my ego started to get really big about it too. Ever since that game I've been on about a 20 game losing streak winning against the occasional noobs. Soo my question is why did this happen? Is/was there some sort of effect from that game that made me start a losing streak? or am I just sucking?

Thanks for any advice given..

If you have ever taken a psych class, then the theory that when put under pressure, a mastered skilled becomes more fine tuned IE better, and an unmastered skill becomes worse.

does every game subconciously put you under pressure because you compare it to that top 20 ladder win? when you are facing a "noob" do you feel pressure to win because he has a realy bad record?

my advice is try to relax, because with things like War3, unless you HAVE mastered it (and no offense, you haven't, I doubt anyone on these boards has) pressure will kill you.

He's right but to a point, because it's easy to master some aspects of wc3 and not master others, such as build order and placement. But what he's probably referring to is micro, which takes alot to master along with decision making and timeing etc.

So just relax, and do what you do best :)

The human body and mind have natural rhythms to them. Some days, for no logical reason, you'll just feel "on" with whatever you're doing, like it's the easiest thing in the world. Other times you'll feel like you can't do jack no matter how hard you try.

What separates masters (in both Warcraft and all areas of life) from the rest of us is that masters are skilled enough that on the days that they don't feel like they can do jack, they can fall back on their training and still play extremely effectively.

I find that I do better when I actually know the other guy has some sort of reputation behind him. Serves and motivation and provides necessary pressure to get me motivated...most of my games are just "meh, lost a hero..no biggie.....oh...forgot to build altar again....oh well...I'll rez a lvl 1 hero from the tavern..."

Basically, I'm more concentrated/motivated against someone prestigious as opposed to my usual game which is generally very lax.

Soo basically you are all saying treat every game equally and let it be on a clean slate sorta speak? Treat every player like they were as good as the last and don't think about anything before hand?

P.s. thanks for all the responses
