If I have $0 in my PayPal account, but it's linked to my bank account, and I purchase something and choose to pay with PayPal... does it automatically withdraw the needed funds from the bank account without extra charge?
Or am I supposed to manually move cash to my PayPal account before using it to pay for anything?

never do that, trust me , always make sure you have money in your paypal

Couldn't tell ya, but you might as well move it manually just in case. It only takes like 3-4 days tops.
