Top Replays $100 Bug Bash Tournament

Beta version of the replay uploading system will be completed by Thursday. This tournament will give me a chance to test the system by having many users upload their replays.

The replay system is by no means even close to being feature complete. There will be more tournaments as new versions roll out every 4-6 weeks.

Prize: $100 for first place.

Date: The tournament is Saturday, January 31st beginning at 12:15 p.m EST

Registration: Registrations will open on Thursday. I will be using a vBulletin mod to run and manage the tournament.

Qualification: Any registered member. Create your account here.

Official rules:
1. You have until the start time to register for the tournament.

2. Check in begins at 10:15 AM EST You will have until 12:15 PM EST to check in for the tournament. Brackets will be up at shortly after. Matches start once the brackets are up. If you don't check in, you'll forfeit your spot.

3. Disconnects: If the game is less than (or at exactly) two minutes in, the game will be replayed on the same map. Otherwise, the loss goes to the disconnecting player unless both parties agree to replay.

4. To report your loss/win submit a replay. The tournament software will handle wins/losses

5. Games will be played on GGC, with a host that is agreed upon by both players.

6. Observers are not allowed unless both players agree.

7. Map choice for pre-quarter finals will be based on veto, with the higher seeder starting until one map remains.

8. All players must be in IRC channel #topreplays on quakenet. (May just switch over entirely to GGC)

9. Quarter finals onwards are BO5, all matches beforehand are BO3.

10. No cheats or hacks are allowed. Evidence of cheating will be grounds for disqualification.

11. Prize money will be distributed in the easiest manner. The prize money is $100 U.S. dollars.

i dont really understand what this is :< . there will be tournament, but what it has to do with that new site?

I didnt read through all of this but I the tournament is so that we will test the feature by uploading many replays (of the tournament)

Just a celebration of the new replay system. Its like celebrating the launch of a new ship in a way.

And yes, i guess it will be used to test out the capacities of the new system with the replays produced.

Haha first 10 people on the site. Well be legends in 2012 =D

the site won't load properly for me, but this seems pretty cool.

unfortunately at this time I play on a mac :S and I don't have a windows disk yet to activate boot camp on my computer.

I do. I have a decent amount of unit tests and such. The site is written in .NET/MSSQL and the parser is julas, which is in php. The webhost did not install the mssql library for php and the replays are saved in mssqlb db. To be able to bridge that connection was a milestone in itself.
