How Do I Make Items Give Spells?

I want to have an item give an ability like Kelen's Dagger of Escape gives blink, but I tried and it didn't work. Anyone know how to do this?

You need to be a little more specific... what item did you base your custom item from and what ability did you try to give to it? I also think you need to make sure the ability you give to it has "Stats - Item Ability" set to True in the World Editor, otherwise it may cause funny behavior.

Make sure you change the ability to an item ability.
Make sure you check the option something like "Can be actively used."
Make sure the ability is the 1st on the list, if you have multiple effects on it.
