    algebra help

can someone explain why (x-1)(radical x+1) equals radical x+1 please. i multiply it out and i keep getting x(radical x)+x-radical x+1

    (x-1)(radical x+1) is over x-1

x-1/(x-1)(radical x+1) is the whole problem
