I remember when I was younger this movie use to be played on T.V a lot.
What I remember from the plot; A young man's(blond white kid) father spaceship is the key to destroying the evil alien race. The young man is a blue collar miner in space, then he becomes aware of his destiny (to find the spaceship, destroy the evil alien race). He denies it but eventually comes around to believe it after he gets attacked by the evil alien race (can't remember if this is how he believes it). He finds a tough guy and travels to a space colony where he meets a girl(she had purple hair I believe) but gets betrayed by the tough guy and eventually the young man does find the spaceship and the tough guy and him are fighting but during the last moments the tough guy turns good again and helps the kid destroy the alien race. The tough guys crew also consisted of this genius hunchedback turtle looking thing that always mumbled to himself, a tough alien chick and a butler(?)(who also happens to aid in the betrayal and kills the tough alien chick.
