from what I know, you can run higher speed ram, but will obviously not benefit from the higher speed. At least that is the case for desktop ram. I'd look more into it (google is excellent resource). let us know what you find.
I have a Macbook 5,1 which only supports 1067 MHz DDR3 FSB RAM's
Would I be able to slot in the newer rams with much higher FSB's?
Just that they are easier/cheaper to buy

if the motherboard is compatible with higher speed ram then yes and it will clock down.
you wont have any problems with higher frequency rams, they will underclock and go @ 1067. Make sure you set up the correct clocks and voltage in the bios (is there a biosi n macs?)
Watch out with RAM DIMMs though, some are not compatible with macs afaik.
