    Iphone falling in water

Did the good ole rice advice already, 2 days now still not working.

If anyone has any other tips before I go to out of warranty swap it'd be appreciated, thanks.

Biggest tip I can give is to not drop your phone in the drink.

Even if it did work I'd give it a month before it would die. Iphone is hard to save because you can't remove the battery. You could try to use a vacuum cleaner on it, but chances are it's toast.

I think you need a little bit more than two days in rice before you give up on it. When my Samsung Galaxy Note II drowned, I was sure it was dead. Three weeks later, it's working like a charm, and I now have a luxury problem as I already bought a Samsung S4 Active to replace it.

FWIW's the rice is just the poor man's version of those silica gel packets you get when you buy electronics. All it does is reduce the humidity in the air.

And silica gel is super, super cheap. You can get a pack of 100 for under $5, worthy investment IMO

One of the most important things when you drop something in water is not to try to power it up for several days. If you try to pass current through while there's water, it's pretty likely that you can damage the components since water makes the whole thing one big shorted circuit.

Doesn't water damage void the warranty or something?
