I'm going to have to say that the show is perhaps the worst awards show in the history of television, and one of the worst shows period, for that matter.
Halo 2 may win, but GTA: San Andreas has beaten Halo every week since Halo 2's second week of release in rentals and sales among all of the published (major) companies that appear in the Sunday newspaper.
GTA has been #1 every week since it was released except for Halo 2's first week. Halo 2 has been 4th or 5th (and lost out to some lame games) ever since Week #2 of it being out. Maybe it's different in the States, but it's clear that far more people are playing GTA in Canada than Halo 2. That is, unless they are all buying Halo 2 from random no-name stores that are not included in the statistics (highly doubtful) and only buying/renting GTA from the huge corporations.
Anyways, bottom line is the show is a joke, they reward horrid games and leave great games unmentioned, and most of the show is completely unrelated to games. Not at all worth your time.
Pure political choices on who wins. I haven't seen who won what awards, but I would wager that only hyped games from large companies win anything.
