Meh, I made a promise a couple months back to update this program, which i never did. For that I apoligize. I am really busy with my job. Not sure if I will get back in to it. I understand if people are upset with that. I did say one thing and not follow through with it. I reccommend not using ever-craft at this point; its just too buggy.

Would backing up a copy of my wc3 folder be good enough if my wc3 fucks up because of evercraft? my brother has my ROC cd but i still want to watch some old games, actually has anyone ever had to reinstall wc3 because of evercraft?

i recently used ever craft.. i think as long as you click the Create Backup option before you start patching/repatching etc you should be fine and it'll be easy to revert back to the newest patch.

The only thing i found was that 1.06 didn't work because it said doodads were missing or something like that

Yeah I've had the same issue about 1.06. Oh well, small loss.

Thank you so much EightCounts for the enjoyment that this program has brought me. I've watched SO many damn replays, by just switching versions at will. You are awesome for making this program. So I just wanna say, thanks negro.

I've had to reinstall twice because of it, so back up ALL your stuff.

EDIT: No offense of course, I still use it all the time just be careful.

Maybe you can give the code to someone else to work on? It's a good program with potential.

Any reason it doesn't work for me? I hit launch, nothing happens. I can see it on alt + ctrl + delete, but it won't switch to it or anything. Its like hidden.

Made the code public about a year ago. The link has been buried in this thread so here it is

www.eightcounts.net/evercraftsource.zip

its written in VB6

As for the runtime error. A temporary fix is to just disregard the error and run the update program manually. Because, for some reason, this only happens with patch 1.20 and it always reverts back to 1.11. So, after the error just run the updater yourself and you're golden.

Hope this helps.

Alright, for those of you getting this run time 53 error read here:

I DL'd the program, trying to view the awesome match up of grubby vs Zacard - http://www.wcreplays.com/replays.php?get=7407&lc=true - but couldn't get the program to switch to the other version. SO, here's what I did:

1) use ever craft to back up
2) download patch (blah blah) do all that crap the read me says
3) switch to any version - for some reason it defaults to 1.13 or something - at which point it gives you an error. You EXPECT the program to switch to the version you want, but it just screws it all up.
4) after that, run the stand alone patch by double clicking it - NOT THROUGH EVER CRAFT

The hard part is finding the right patch - so for example, the replay above was during october, so I had to look on the blizzard website and download the patch that closely corresponds to that date - in my case 1.20a.

Another thing to remember is that you can watch replays after 1.13 - but you have to patch it up to that point.

This program sucks. I just really wanted to see Grubby kick some arse. If you have questions email me, I'll explain the work-around better.

Not sure if you were being serious on that first sentence. If you were then I'd like to ask you: Do you realize that Eight did this for no reason outside of attempting to make switching patches easier for the community? He didn't do this for money or showing off, he did it out of care so he could contribute something to the WC3 community. Unfortunately, he had more important things to deal with in life outside of a this "sucky program" as you so nicely put it. I doubt you care, but I think you're pretty ungrateful; he put in loads of work and constantly attempted to make newer, improved versions FOR FREE (and it's actually quite a nice program with a couple bugs here and there). Just a lack of respect...

You obviously fail, this program is extremely easy to use. Just add patches, make backup, and upload Replays into the program to find out version they are, and then just switch versions and play.

You have a right to your opinion, but honestly you shouldn't be so rude, as people will be more inclined to listen to you if you actually speak politely.

I remember someone bumping the WCR Raffles thread after like 2 years, saying "Hey didn't realize I won, lol. So do I still get that AT with Mr.Cygnus?"
