Nominations for ESWC USA

Today, Games-Services announced that they will be cancelling their agreement with the company which licensed the ESWC USA preliminaries. As such, Games-Services will be using a new system of qualification for the US players for ESWC 2006 based on an application and review process.

American champions that wish to represent the USA during ESWC 2006 in Paris, France can complete the appropriate short candidate application form on the official website http://www.esworldcup.com from Friday May 19th to Sunday May 28th.

Once the applications have been received, Games-Services will be forming a committee to review and select the invitees to ESWC 2006. The committee, which will include representatives from GotFrag.com, Official Media Partner of ESWC 2006, will analyze each candidate application and will proceed to the selection of the champions according to their latest performances and their past achievements. The invited list for the Grand Final will be announced on May 30th on Gotfrag.com ( http://www.gotfrag.com ).

Champions will have to cover their travel expenses for the event but will be accommodated in Paris by ESWC as all international competitors.

The WCReplays Wacraft 3 community has been asked to nominate players we think should be considered by the committee of ESWC. Keep in mind that 2 Warcraft players will be extended an invitation and that the decision will be made by Game-Services and not by WCReplays. "We" meaning everyone on this site, have the opportunity to represent the Wacraft 3 community.

Each Warcraft 3 player will also have the chance to submit an application to the ESWC selection commitee from the official web site listed above.

We have decided to make a multiple selection poll to allow you to nominate more than one player since not every player can go and there will be two players invited. We have came up with a list of who we think are currently the top players in the US to help the community decide. If there is someone else you think who is more deserving, please feel free to express your opinions in this thread or have that player apply at the ESWC site.

As the nomination and poll is going on, we will speak to the top nominated players to ensure that they are actually able to attend and pay for their own plane ticket.

If a player declines to pay for his/her own plane ticket or asks to be removed from the nomination, we will remove him from the poll.

Please note that this community poll will represent 1/3 of the decision-making for GotFrag's list that will be provided to Game-Services:
