DEAD WORLD

a once bold and molten phoenix
melted to another cog in a chain
what point is there to this sick confusion
wherein lies the problem you can't name
to what degree of a soul so battered and bruised
can be fixed and mended so it can still remain

you exist and decide
you decease and divide
many failed designs
mass work built on lies
shed sweat, lost blood
forgotten tears
and wasted lives

where you've been
is where you are now
two steps that way
and four steps back
nothing makes sense here
there is nothing left anywhere and
there was never anything to begin with

grass fed churchgoers and cannibals
subconscious in a rigormortik march
steel spines and juggernauts
scorched by time and left to rot
one more tragedy for a fable
that confused the villains for the plot

paradise is over before it ever began
a sea of clouds is all that breathes
distorted and lost in your abstract world
dead is the earth
under a thousand dead stars
