Join Our Replay Staff!

Hey guys, summer is coming to a close and that means some things have to change (obviously). One of those things is some of our replay staff... we're sad to say that we're losing one or two people pretty soon but we're happy to announce that we're looking to replace them (and add some more!) immediately! Replay Staff is probably one of the most important jobs at this site because as I'm sure you know, not many other sites have detailed descriptions written for you to let you know what you're getting into. This is really a special interest job.. if you're not interested in watching and describing at least SIX TO SEVEN replays a week, please... don't even apply. I know time constraints can be tough but it's something that has to be worked through and is worked through by our current staff.

Now, this hiring round is going to be just a little bit different... What I'm looking for in this hiring process is people who will be assigned to different areas of the Warcraft scene. I'll need one person to be dedicated to watching Replays.net and take any top quality games from there and have them posted in our database (yes, we are affiliates). The other two positions I'd like to fill up really quickly is two or three preppers who would focus all of their attention on the WC3L playdays that are going on right now. What you'd do is check out certain matches from the games played on a certain playday and post all the ones you feel are up to our standards. Along with these three or four people, I also want a regular prepper who will help out everywhere. So, I'm looking to hire up to FIVE people. I only want the best though, so keep in mind that the quota for replay staff right now is six.. you MUST BE ABLE TO DO THAT MANY PER WEEK.

Now, how do you apply? Well, that's simple! All I need you to do is to write a little sample description on a replay that is already in our database (hey, it can even be in member replays on one of your own games!) and send that badboy (with a link to the replay) to Applications@WCReplays.com along with some pretty basic information. All I want to know is:

1.) What's your forum name?
2.) Name, age, location?
3.) Contact info? (MSN/AIM, whatever you use)
4.) Relevant experience... why should you be picked?Also, please be sure to title your e-mail as follows: Application: Replay Staff. Be sure to include which of the three positions you'd be MOST interested in.. thanks!

Regular prepping (Replays that are available for submitting providing by WCR), WC3L prepping (Mainly prep replays that take place during the WC3L), and Replays.net prepping (New spot. Downloads replays for Replays.net and preps them). No pay, all voulenteer.

I'd consider applying, but I have a double-edged sword on my hands, two in fact.

1) Being a prepper would give me incentive to watch more replays; bad side of that is I don't have that incentive now. Note: I am still VERY open to it.

2) Being a prepper would help me to learn to watch replays more alertly, keeping track of what's going on so I can write it down which in turn would make me watch my OWN game more alertly; bad side of that is that I currently don't do that now...

So what do you guys think?

This is sad. My internet connection is not that good for watching a game in WC3L and I don't understand much out of "wcreplays.net". The site is 90% in Koreean ! OUCH .
Is there any chance I can ask now for a place in the WC3L and maybe given a chance to compete later ?

I admire the confidence, but I assure you, doing 5 a day will burn you out in two weeks or less. 10 a week is more than enough.

Let me go a bit off topic and say that I find it odd that Wick3d has MULTIPLE programs for certain functions.

Browsing: IE; FireFox
Games (Doesn't really count, but oh well): War3; America's Army (I'm assuming); CS/Steam; What looks like an odd solitaire game

Ya well, here's a tip. Get a Sheet of paper watcht he replay in both sides ( or if your quick watch it once) Write down units,heros, harssing, creeping, etc stuff that affects it. These are notes which you Shorthanded and you make them into a summary using word note pad etc. If i dont make it, i hope you use the same process i would. GL all i think today is the day we know ** Sits waiting for email**
