Yes, once again the Replay Department is looking for additional help! We want people who genuinely enjoy watching replays and can give a quick summary of the games they watch.

We want you to have fun if you're working here, so please, we only ask for those of you who truly love watching replays to apply! If you're interested in being a replay prepper for WCR and you can write at least 6 replay descriptions a week then send an email to applications@wcreplays.com and include the following information:

- Name
- Age
- Location
- WCR handle
- Contact Information (AIM, MSN, or IRC)
- Why should we pick you?
- A Sample Description

The most important part is the sample description. Applications received without a sample description will NOT be considered. Please keep in mind that we're looking for well-written descriptions that are short and precise. We are more interested in people who can watch and prep a lot of replays than those who write really long descriptions.

Sample descriptions should not be more than one paragraph long. They only need to provide a short summary of the major highlights in the game. You have until Tuesday, May 10th to submit your application.

They want people who are able to prep a decent number of replays, If you were only able to prep a single one in a week, you really wouldn't be contributing too much as a staff member, you know?

Yes. People prefer to watch replays of well-known players; so it's an obvious bonus if you can identify them via their numerous & elusive AKAs.

But I suspect this is something you can handle once off if you just spend a few hours of heavyass power-googling. :flex:

To watch or preview a replay... it should only take a few minutes if you speed it up to 8x. From that, you should be able to tell if its a good replay or not. Prepping 6 replays means you have to upload 6 replays that you think are good. SIX is nothing in one week. Some weeks you will have to watch more than 6 games to find some that are top quality. I don't know what that number is... maybe 8, 10, or maybe 18.

Why should it matter if you already love watching replays? You just pick out ones you think are good and you upload them. I don't think its asking for much.

Not really, we've got a sticky in the staff forums listing a bunch of the gosu AKA's =P

We've also got two other staff who have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the AKA's of gosus.

What insider obs spots? Staff don't get special games played for them or anything like that. We have our own database of replays submitted to us by players, which you will get to chose from. You don't have to observe the game in order to prep it.

All replays you receieve will be good ones, or at least 95% will be. So, to meet quota, you'll probably watch/prep 6-7 a week.

No you do not need to have extensive knowledge of gosu akas, it's written in one of the staff forums, a huge list of gosus/their akas.

Hiya, whoever is reading the descriptions i made a mistake.... For my WCR Handle i put my b.net account name which i now realize is incorrect... My email is Dean_Orviss@hotmail.com and it says my WCR Handle is DeepestBlue, which it clearly isnt because its montague!

Find it a bit hilarious that a replay staffer is expected to know if a replay is good after watching it at x 8 speed (according to bunny) :p . . . Seems a little superficial. Surely, the excitement, micro and other things cannot be spotted accurately at anything more than x 1/2 or x 1 speed. I demand that all watch at x 1/2 speed like me! :D
