Its true man most shading and hardcore detail do get lost after you color it. That sword if fucking amazing, i see you did your own version of the Frostmourne.

Im curious as to what you use. It appears to be Pens for the line art, normal ball points? microns? for the coloring Im guessing a combination of Prisma color markers and digital stuff? any water colors at all? If you made that flat black stripe behind arthas with pen and no digital touching up that is insane. To make it that even with all the blacks the same tone. I hope ull answer my questions.. some artists dont like to reveal what they use.. That makes no sense to me, its the process thats the part ud want to keep secret if anything.

Hmmm. No doubt the work is very good. But this style doesnt work for me. All credit to the artist, he has done very well, but the style to me is very cluttered. I find it hard to find areas which are visually pleasing as here is so much to focus on that aesthetically it isn't enjoyable for me. If it was coloured it would look much better, BUT you would lose the intricate patterns you have created. So all in all, good work, but It didn't work for me.

How did you learn to draw? I really want to get good, and a style like yours and samwise's is something i am trying to get. I took anatomy/life drawing for help with poses/body parts and such. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Thats all there really is too it...given some people are naturally better at drawing because they have a better understanding of the world around them.

If I were you I would work on observation, exaguration (colour form shape and all that stuff) and look at lots and lots of people. The more you look the more ideas will be triggered and from there its just a matter of doing it more and more until you are good.

Not sure if cugar can offer advice on his particular style but I think I am pretty right in what I have said. Even if you just draw from observation. Go grab some leaves, take a photo, get some minatures or whatever, and just draw from them, and try to make it as similar as possible. Then when you start to get an understanding of the things your drawing, try doing them without reference.
