Do you want to work for WCReplays.com? We are currently hiring for all our writing Departments. As there are few staff members in this section at the moment, we are looking for people who can contribute with the following:

Strategy Articles
Interviews
News Articles
Features/Columns

Strategy Article Writers should be able to study and analyze various strategies and write in depth articles about them, making them more accessible and understandable to the public. While good playing skills are a plus, it is not required as long as you have a good knowledge of the game and are able to do research and analyze the replays of top players to draw your conclusions. There are several openings for strategy article writers.

Interviewers should master both the Q&A format and other interview formats. Although we will assist you in choosing and finding interview subjects, you also need to be able to find and contact people yourself. It is important that you are able to do some research on the subject so that you can formulate good and also critical questions that take us a bit further than just to the surface of the given interview subject. There are several openings for interviewers.

News Writers should be keeping up-to-date with what is happening in the Warcraft environment. Being able to separate rumours from facts is crucial, and also being level-headed when it comes to which newsbits are important and which are not. News articles should include the actual piece of news presented in an objective and accurate way, and confirmed or commented on by those involved or affected. Note that since news only are news for so long, it is important to be able to act fast while not having that affect the work quality. There is only one or possibly two openings for news writers.

Feature Writers/Columnists should be able to go into a particular topic that is some way related to Warcraft, and write about this. Feature writers need to keep an objective view and do research to gather information and comments about their topics, so that they can go in depth and focus on various aspects of it in an objective manner. Columnists should, on the other hand, be subjective in the way they approach the various topics. You will not have to write all that much each time, but your column should present your view so that it gives food for thought and grounds for discussion. Humour is a plus, but not a must. There are few openings for feature writers/columnists.

Note that for all the positions, we are looking for people who can contribute on a regular basis. This is a lot of work, so it is very important that you like to do what you apply for. Good English skills are a plus, though material will be checked by an editor before publishing, so good writing skills are more important.

Samples can be added as hyperlink preferably as I would like as few attachments as possible, but if needed its no problem. I have seen some of the applications already and I urgue you all again that this email is your only chance to stand out the crowd, so please take some time in writing it. The openings will close in one week from now and Its definately not by first-come- first-serve so you still have more than enough time.. no need to rush.

Samples can have a positive or negative effect, sure if you can prove you have relevant experience by showing examples can help but It can also have a negative effect, so that depends.

Mageee, you need to post in particular forums. The only time I've noticed my post count raise is when I post in the strategy forums.

And I have a question. I don't want to apply now, because I don't feel I have the needed WC experience. Is there a chance there will be an opening some time in the future? I would really like to get to know the game before I apply to work at a strategy site.

No openings on the other departments for now, we have enough Replay staff / Shoutcasters and Audio Commentators for the moment.
As for shoutcasting in particular is wise to check the open mic nights because thats the best way to get yourself known for that.

No more applications will be accepted. We are currently going through all applicants and the best off them will be contacted in the next few days.
